The saying, "If you are trying to be all things to all people, you are lying to someone," is so true. It is an impossible feat, not to mention exhausting.
Living your best life starts by being your authentic self. You are never going to be everyone's favorite flavor so give yourself a break and don't try that. Instead, learn to accept all the parts of yourself. Love who you are at your core, and the people meant to find you and love you, will too.
There is no place at the table for shame if you are truly embracing your most authentic self. All of us have made mistakes and are trying to find out who we really are. When we tap into our truest form, it's our job to protect who we are from others that will try to bring us back down to who they think we are supposed to be.
The song by Billy Joel, called The Stranger, was mentioned in this podcast as a reference to how we all try on different personas in the hopes of being what we believe others want us to be.
