The supply chain for lumber has a price lag. When availability was peaking so was the price as mill curtailment and shuts prior to covid distribution of the supply chain left little inventory and prices had dropped. Today the availability is there and prices are reflecting the unavailability of last year's curtailment and inventory drop. Lumber prices lag availability but a year.
