In life, every person has something to give. There is no one with nothing. Each one has at least one thing. We do not know because we are made to see only by looking away from ourselves. We cannot even see ourselves, our face unless we see through a reflection. If we can look away from self and look to others, for thus are we made, we would find purpose in service because nothing was made for itself.
