有人在敲門。
我去開門……請問是哪位?
knock除了有「輕敲」的意思之外，還有「用力打擊」、knock out 「撞」的意思。把人擊倒在地，稱為knock down 這個拳擊用語，給人一種被拳頭重擊(punch)的感覺。
I'll get it.是I'll answer the door.的意思。我們幾乎每天都要用這句話，像是接電話、有人敲門、有郵差(mailman)或 是有人送貨到家裡來的時候。跟它意思比較相近的還有I'll go see.(我去看一下。)，各位可以順便記起來。
 
I heard strange noise upstairs. I'll go see what it is.
(我聽到樓上有奇怪的聲音。我去看一下。)
 
Who is it?是問門外的人「請問是哪位?」，如果用 Who is this?，則是在講電話時，用來詢問對方身分的說法(對方講話的聲音離自己的耳朵很近，所以用this)。用電話自我介紹的時候，要用This is Mary Wright.(我是瑪麗·萊特。)或是This is Kate speaking.(我是凱特。)。
