You Set The Tone

What a day in County General! And what a day for Doug Ross! By the end, will he even have a job? Mark is left in a very awkward position when he walks in on Ross and Harper in an extra-curricular activity, but what will poor Carter think? Meanwhile, Hathaway has problems of her own when her notary (guest star Robert Picardo) struggles to stay alive long enough for her to buy her house.

Benton and Lewis clash over treatment of a patient, while she is quickly overriden by a new surgeon - let's see how that goes!

Well it's full steam ahead with this episode! Returning guest star Lucy Liu means a bad day for Doug and Harper, which also leads to a run in with Mark in the ambulance bay. Peter is still recovering from his sprained finger, leading to a nasty pain when a patient squeezes his hand. That same patient wakes him up though when he is forced to see the dark underside of some relationships. Meanwhile, Susan is looking into adoption for little baby Suzie, while her parents redefine what 'helpful' really means!

Join us in County General this week as Shep tries to impress Hathaway (and gets a lot more than he bargained for!), while Susan continues to butt heads with Weaver. Things turn mean when Weaver walks in on Doug, Hathaway and Susan having a joke...about her crutch. Mark tries to manage it all, but he's already having his own issues at home (or rather, Doug's home!)

Carter finally gets to help Benton in a big way, even if it does cost Benton a surgery he wanted!

Hathaway is still out on the longest ridealong ever, rivalling Coburn's crawl to the delivery ward. Susan and Weaver look destined to be at odds forever, while Mark is very much caught in the middle. Guest star Lucy Liu stands out this week as the mother of a young boy, dying of AIDS. All the while, Carter is trying desperately to impress Harper - with deadly results...

Season two has properly kicked off and Carol attends the scene of a horrible shooting with the crew of the ambulance rig. Weaver joins County General and some feathers are definitely ruffled, although she proves herself to be an excellent Doctor all the same. Susan is having her usual good times, not helped in the least when Chloe....acts the way Chloe does!

It's his first day of his second year and, wouldn't you know it? Carter is two hours late for his shift! Do you think Benton is going to be very happy??

There are rumours of a new chief resident....someone called...Weaver?

And Carol is forced to undergo one of the biggest challenges of her career - paramedic ridealong!

This week, we are looking at the penultimate episode of ER's first season - Motherhood. Guest director Quentin Tarrantino, fresh off the high of making Pulp Fiction, brings his signature style to much of this episode's visuals.

Chloe and Susan face the trials of bringing baby Suzie into the world, while Doug and Diane face their own issues. Carol and Tag are still trying to make the wedding work and Benton receives a phone call that will change his life.

This week, in an episode that is a bit more upbeat than last week's, we see Tag and Carol struggle to find the time to get their vows written. On top of that, guest star Amy Ryan is a nun who may be pregnant, all while grappling with her faith. Carter has to make a choice between a Surgical sub-internship, or an ER sub-internship - and his choice may not please Benton.

Speaking of pleasing Benton, Jeanie Boulet returns this week!

Well, we all knew this episode was coming - this is one of the hardest days that Mark Greene has ever worked in County General, and we are right there with him for the duration! Guest stars Bradley Whitford and Colleen Flynn play Sean and Brodie O'Brien, and we learn to love them....until...
