Have you ever wondered aloud or quietly whether or not you still have what it takes for whatever you have been thinking?

I know I have or should I say had, at various times, within the last 8 years or so. I must say that the question is not as strong as it once was. However, I find it shows up in other subtle ways.

This is a question that surfaces in 2 stages of life: i) teenager stage of life and ii) midlife or the middle years stage of life.

I find it to be stronger during the midlife years than it was during the teenage years. Maybe it’s because during the middle years stage of life, you weren’t taking life as serious yet. Youth was on your side.

Now that you are at this stage, life has taken on a different meaning. There is much more at stake.

In this episode, I discuss how we use 3 lenses to look at where we are in life:

1. The Rear-view lens

2. The Front-view lens

3. The Side-view lens

These 3 lenses gives us different ways of looking at our life. Depending on what we “see” through these lenses, determines our reaction to this stage of life.

If the feedback is not positive in nature, it leads to discouragement and at times to the question: do I have what it takes?
