God desires His truth to reside in our "innermost being."  I hope that's your desire as well.
However, there's one big obstacle to His truth reigning in our heart / our innermost being. 
What is that obstacle? It's us! God doesn't play second fiddle, and we're already occupying the throne of our heart. For God and His truth to reign in our hearts, we've got to abandon the preeminent place on that throne.
