Is Oliver Stone's JFK accurate? Probably not, but it captures something timeless. Once again, we're living in an era of violence and uncertainty, making us question objective reality.

  • Why Scrooge (1951) is The Quintessential Christmas Carol
We all know Charles Dickens’ classic book. It's been adapted more times than any other piece of literature. Few know how hard this version of A Christmas Carol goes, which is one reason among many why this is the only Christmas Carol I watch.

  • Eddington-One of the Year's Most Misunderstood Films?
Air Aster may have hit a nerve with Americans that Paul Thomas Anderson perfected with One Battle After Another. However, that shouldn't exclude the accomplishment of Eddington.

  • Is The Elephant Mans Compassion Beyond Sympathy
Life is full of surprises. The story of John Merrick (whose real name is Joseph, by the way) has the weirdness mixed with kindness that only David Lynch could create. Is The Elephant Man one of the most compassionate movies ever made? Is it one of David Lynch's Best films? Or are we all falling for a simple yet real plot device?

  • Why There Will Be Blood Is a Pipeline to the Gut
Religion, greed, hatred, capitalism, hypocrisy, there's a lot to unpack in Paul Thomas Anderson's Magnum Opus. Is it his best, or is it flaunting style and obscurity over nuance and substance? Get your Bibles and milkshakes ready!
