Luke leads innovation projects across the School, which includes researching, developing and delivering new programs and driving key strategic projects, including the ESSTEAM program, Beyond St Hilda’s, whilst also bringing a lens of reflection, where he leads reviews of past strategic initiatives to ensure they are delivering on the intended outcomes and identifying ongoing improvements. Key to the role is developing the School’s capability and capacity for innovation, and evolving the School’s relationships with external partners to ensure that St Hilda’s continues to be a global leader in girls’ education.

Luke cohosts the Edleaders Australia podcast and is well connected to innovative leaders and schools across the country, keeping up to date with the latest trends in education. Luke is a connector of people and ideas, which when combined with his clear understanding of the academic and business needs of a school and his strategic lens, makes him a valuable member of the St Hilda’s executive leadership team.

Luke has a Certificate in School Leadership and Management (Harvard University), Masters in Business Administration (UWA) Advanced Not-for-profit Governance Certificate (AICD) and a Bachelor of Engineering.

Abbie Jane, from the remote town of Broken Hill, founded the Rainbow Shoelace Project in 2022 when she was just 12 years old. What started with Abbie giving away free rainbow beads for people to wear on their shoelaces to show their support for the LGBTQIA+ community is now a global movement, with more than 220,000 packets of beads given away in Australia alone. 

In 2023, Abbie attended World Pride in Sydney to represent the Rainbow Shoelace Project, was awarded the Regional or Rural Entrepreneur of the Year at the Teens in Business Awards, and presented at the Pride in Practice conference in Sydney. She was recognised as NSW Volunteer of the Year in 2021, and was a member of the NSW Regional Youth Taskforce and NSW Volunteering Taskforce in 2022.

Now 14, Abbie is a change-maker and advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community. Her ability to cultivate support for issues that affect her community and passion for driving change make her a real force for the future.

Lexy created the mobile application HerHelp when she was just 17 after being bullied growing up. Since its launch Lexy has been able to help thousands of people across the world with her app now a multi-million dollar company with hundreds of professional resources from dance workouts to financial education and everything in between.

Her mission is to make mental health and wellness support so much more accessible to anyone and everyone that needs it. While also inspiring the people around her to make the change they can’t see around them.

She is the current WA Young Person of the Year for Innovation, and when she isn’t working on her app, she is working with her community to normalise good mental health and inspiring people to be their best selves.

As an influential figure in social entrepreneurship, Taj Pabari has made significant strides in reshaping life skills, entrepreneurship and employment education in Australia.
He is the Co-Founder of The ASE Group - a community-led and purpose driven business for good that delivers life skills education, entrepreneurship and employment programs to Australians of all ages. The ASE Group has partnered with Government, the Private Sector and Educational Institutions to deliver programs for more than 180,000 Australians. The ASE Group gained new momentum in 2023 with the addition of Steve Baxter, a notable figure in technology and entrepreneurship and a past ‘Shark’ on Channel 10’s Shark Tank Australia, who came on board as an investor, advisor and ambassador.
Taj was named The Australian Young Innovator of the Year for 2014, an award given to Australia’s most exciting innovator. In 2017, Taj was awarded Young Australian of the Year for Queensland. He was the youngest recipient of the award since its formation in 1979.

Scott Millar is a business leader, keynote speaker, and generational consultant on a mission to help organisations navigate the ever changing future of work. Launching his business in early high school, Scott has spent the past 10 years working with young professionals and business leaders around the world to explore how technology and innovation are changing the way we live, work, and learn. 

As one of Australia's top 30 business leaders under 30 years of age, Queensland’s Young Small Business Leader, APAC's Inspiring Youth Leader, two-time TEDx Speaker, and LGBT advocate, Scott is passionate about inspiring others to seize opportunities in their digital world. 

Kate Kirwin founded She Codes Australia in 2015 with the aim of teaching women coding skills, helping them enter technical careers and building a likeminded community.  

As a country girl, Kate strongly believes in empowering women from some of Australia’s most remote regions. So far, more than 6000 women from all over the country have learned to code through She Codes. 

Kate’s work is closing the gender gap in tech, where only 30 per cent of employees are women. She has sourced more than $1 million from government and industry to support women in STEM.  

Kate has also contributed to the growth of Spacecubed, a start-up hub in Perth, and since 2014 has played a pivotal role in building communities and coordinating programs such as Plus Eight and Startup Weekend.  

Her achievements have been recognised with the Business News 40 Under 40 Award and The West Australian’s Rising Star Award.

IDEA is an alternative option to mainstream education for young creatives, innovators and entrepreneurs. We are an academy for senior secondary aged students and recent school leavers. We work with our global and local networks to arrange portfolio-based pathways to university, training and employment driven by your individual interests.
