Young social media influencers are showing off stacks of cash, flashy casino visits and placing huge bets on red or black on the internet.

Co-Director of the University of Sydney’s Game and Play Lab Dr Mark Johnson told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "One big part of this research project was a big survey of people who watch gambling streams on Twitch and TikTok and YouTube and we asked them, do you think watching these streams will make you more inclined to play with your own money or less inclined?"

"Roughly half of the respondents said they feel watching these streams does make them more inclined," Dr. Johnson said.
