This question resonates with me because for many years I struggled because I was ignorant of the devices of the devil. The devil constantly makes us second guess our status as Christians. The episodes has scriptures that re-affirms our position as God's children- Assurance of Salvation.

God's forgiveness and love are unconditional. He loved us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8) and we cannot earn His love by our good works.
