Welcome back! This week on Youngr presents i sat down with brothers Keith and STU Xander, also known as Xander and The Peace Pirates. For those of you who don't know of them, they're a totally kickass blues soul rock and roll band hailing from Liverpool. They've shared the stage with the likes of Bon Jovi and countless other musical legends and gained attention from power house producers such as Eddie Kramer.
I've known these brothers for yearrrrs now, I used to play drums for them the back in the day, and it's safe to say they are the hardest working band I know. If you haven't heard of them, check out the links below for all their music. also, Keith Xander is probably one of the best guitarist I've ever played with and he happens to only have one arm, the other he has a hook with a pic attached to it for tearing up solos on his 6 strings! I also love what this band stands for... Their message is about peace love and harmony, a breath of fresh air in these confusing times. Enjoy and let me know what you think.
Good day! This week on Youngr presents I took a trip up to sunny Bristol to talk to James Cameron from the band True Strays. this band, led by him and Joe James are constantly on the road, rocking out on any stage they can get their hands on! They've had support from BBC introducing and are currently booking their own UK headline tour so definitely go and check them out if you get the chance.
James is also the co founder of the legendary Fieldview festival - which I've been lucky enough to play a number of times now.
As well as of all this, James is an English teacher so we talk about the dynamics between being called Sir by day, and rock god by night! But seriously this band is amazing, Check out their music on the links below and try and catch one of those dates if you can.
Enjoy, and let me know what you think!
Hello there! So this week on Youngr presents I got my lil sister, Savanna, into the studio and we had a little chat on the couch! We spoke about her time on Love island, her time on the West End, touring, The Tina Turner show and Michael Jackson show, Thriller. And we spoke about music! What she's working on now and what's to come. It was loads of fun! Lots of laughing, lots of in-jokes (sorry!) But anyway, enjoy, let me know what you think as always and check out Savs music in the links below! X
Support the showHello and welcome back to Youngr Presents. In this episode, I sat down with Kyra. An artist, singer and songwriter making waves in London. She recently headlined the BBC introducing stage at the south bank centre which I was lucky enough to witness. She's currently gearing up for her first EP release, titled Xanadu, so we talk about the what that process is like and what it's like being a mum and trying to tackle all of that single-handedly! I've known Kyra for a while now, we've worked together loads of times and written some great music together. Her voice is out of this world! If you haven't heard her music, check the links below, she's got a wicked cover of Closer than Close with dope music videos too... and if you ever get the chance to see her live, DO IT! She is flawless! As always, let me know what you think, and enjoy this chat. X
Support the showSo this week on 'Youngr Presents', I sat down with Mike and Ev Halls, the badass husband and wife duo also known as Clean Cut Kid. I went up to Liverpool, where we actually all met in uni like a decade ago! And we hung out in their sun-soaked city apartment and had a good ol' lengthy catch-up. They've just released their 3rd album, Mothers Milk, and we talk about why they decided to go independent on this one. We also got the guitar out and they sang an unreleased demo for me. They are such wonderful humans, and an incredible band doing incredible things. If you haven't heard their new album yet, I would recommend you do so, it's somewhat of a masterpiece!! There are links below to all their stuff, I really hope you enjoy this chat. Let me know what you think about it in the comments below. Love you!
