My past pregnancies were no excuse to slow me down. I rode horses, did chores, worked cattle, all the ranch things. But this pregnancy has slowed me down the last few weeks and it was time to listen to my body and take a break.

The U.S. government will enter a new fiscal year. Our federal government will close down if our Congress does not pass a Continuing Resolution to approve funding in the new fiscal year. If Congress can get it done to avoid a shut down, (and I think they will) they will probably only extend business until sometime in December. Then they will have to act again to get through the rest of fiscal year 2023.

As combines are hitting the fields chasing this year’s corn and bean harvest, ranchers are seeking information on a harvest of their own. This time of year finds many ranches rounding up their herds of cows to pregnancy check them.
