Denise Rhames, Physician Liaison for Northeastern Oklahoma Cancer Institute is responsible for community outreach and marketing of the center, and connects

patients and physicians with the services they need. Prior to joining Northeastern Oklahoma Cancer Institute, Denise worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative for over 25 years in the Tulsa and surrounding areas. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern State University in Business Administration/Marketing.

My name is Amy Bomar and I wear many hats, I get to be a mom to three beautiful inspiring young ladies, I am a wife to a hardworking man, and I work from home for my family business. I have been a youth pastor and a teacher, which I look forward to getting back to after this journey I am on now.  All of these that I have mentioned I feel so blessed that God chose me to be a part of pour into my family and the lives of others. In this journey, or season, I am always looking for an opportunity to be a blessing to those around me.

When you are looking for opportunities to be a blessing to others, you don’t give your mind time to be sad. I hope that this turns into more opportunities for me to share my story. I truly love helping people and lifting people up and I want everyone to know the goodness of God! This journey will not just be growth in me and my family but growth to be shared far and wide. Kristen is the owner and founder of Connect and Restore, a private counseling and neurofeedback practice where she and her team of 18 therapists are blessed to provide integrated and collaborative care for hundreds of children and adults each week. She was a guest on episode 16 and is joining us again to talk specifically about neurofeedback for cancer patients. 

Jerina Edwards is a 40 year old wife, mother, and respiratory therapist. She is also an 8 year breast cancer warrior! Originally diagnosed in 2016 with stage 3 IDC, she achieved remission before being diagnosed with metastic breast cancer in 2021. She was honored to serve as a Portrait of Hope for the American Cancer Society in 2017 and continues to work to support & encourage others dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis.

Liz Hyde MBA, RTT, CTR has been with Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute for 16 years.  She is the Director of Radiation, Imaging, and Special Support Services. She received her bachelor's degree from The University of Oklahoma in Radiologic Technology – Radiation Therapy in 1991 and is a registered Radiation Therapist (ARRT). 

She received her initial Master Degree in Science from Cameron University in 1996.  She went on to earn her second Master Degree in Business Administration – Healthcare Administration focus- from Southern Nazarene University in 2018.

Kacie is a certified Radiation Therapist and she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Weber State University. She has been working in the medical field and serving oncology patients for more than 10 years. 

She loves helping patients and their families feel relaxed and she is glad to be a part of the team at Northeastern Oklahoma Cancer Institute, Claremore.

Lisa Bain is the founder of Lisa Bain Ministries, a nonprofit organization that delivers hope and support to those who are facing illness, a special need, or a crisis situation. 

She holds a degree in social work and has over 25 years in non profit work. Lisa Bain Ministries is currently rated as a Top Non Profit 2024 organization by Great Nonprofits, and Lisa was chosen as one of the women to be represented in the campaign “She is Tulsa”. She recently received the Compassionate Tulsan award by the Tulsa Human Rights Commission and Compassionate Tulsa Committee.

She believes in sharing her story with honesty and authenticity. When her mother was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer and Lisa was diagnosed with a debilitating autoimmune disease in the same week, she was determined to find joy in the midst of her difficult circumstances. This event was ultimately what began her passion for her non profit organization.

Edie is the Founder and Executive Director for The Stonebrook Project and through her work to serve those who are navigating cancer, she has a heart for educating men and women about breast health.

Through her breast health education, she is sharing the process for breast screening, additional testing, breast biopsy, legislation, FDA guidelines and much more. Her hope is to reduce the fear and anxiety that surrounds mammography and the results. Today she shares a portion of her breast health program. 

Irasema grew up in New Mexico and has lived in Oklahoma for her adult life. She has 2 amazing grown sons. Both Married to the best daughters in laws and 3 grands - her heart and joy. Her life partner is Jarod and they have been together for 11 years. They currently reside in the rose district in Broken Arrow. 

She enjoys gardening, cooking and bike rides and her passion is learning how the earth supplies us with everything we need for wellness and healing. After walking through breast cancer, she is ready for her next season, starting a new business with a friend; Growing plants with a purpose.
