As most of you may have noticed, I took the last 10 weeks off of podcasting. This was done for several reasons:
- I was getting really behind in my core business, which is writing surety bond for car dealers. Since service is my #1 priority to my clients, I really wanted to make sure that I prioritized and made decisions that were the best for the longevity of the core business.
- I really had to dissect which of my efforts were working most efficiently. While making Youtube video content and podcast material may seem very similar on the surface, there are investments of time and money that go into both.
- In addition to our podcast and Youtube Video content, we also launched our Pinterest and Instagram accounts to maximize our reach.
All these marketing platforms are competing for my time and attention but only some provide a good return of consumers for my content. Drum roll please!....
And the winner of the audio content platform that we will focus on in 2019 is this very podcasting platform! Here was the results of one of my tests that put me over the top on my decision.
Our Podcast has been downloaded about double the number of times that our Youtube channel has been watched over the past 10 weeks of inactivity. This tells me that Youtube needs more attention to stay relevant, which at the peak times of my core business may not always be possible.
So now what? I have decided to bring a dynamic twist to the Your Car Dealer Podcast to give my audience some more great info to my small to medium sized business owners out there. Starting and then running a business is difficult in 2018 and 2019!
We are going to give you all the good info that no one is teaching in school and no one is giving out without paying for it.
This episode featured Chas Dre, the owner of Mindset of a Champion. Chas Dre did a great job of laying out step 1 to analyzing any business. It actually starts with the owner performing the analysis on themselves.
This is a unique concept since everyone wants you to dive head first into your business, production, and production capabilities.
The 3 lists that we talk about developing is a list of:
- what you want (or your goals).
- what you are willing to do to achieve those goals; and
- what you are capable of doing.
The last 2 lists were the most profound to me since no one mentions needed to identify what you are willing to do to support your goals.
Another concept not discussed, is about your potential on getting that down on paper. Since your potential is only limited to outlook on what you can accomplish if you get yourself in the right frame of mind, your list could be really know no boundaries if you are thinking about this the right way.
