The most flamboyant event returns to Crescent Gardens with bohemian mirrored walls, wooden floors, stained glass, red velvet booths, and lamped lighting.

This year’s programme consists of some firm favourites along with some exciting new artists, with visitors set to enjoy Hacienda DJ Graeme Park and dance the night away with a Silent Disco.

Nick Hancock is joined by Bryan Western, Conductor at Harrogate Symphony Orchestra, to hear all about their big two concerts coming to the Royal Hall in June and July!

Bryan previews the summer concert - titled ‘Music around the World’ - which will include a special guest appearance from soloist Anna Noakes and a variety of fantastic bands from around the globe.

He also tells us about the ‘Family Fun Time’ concert in July featuring the world premiere of ‘King of the Birds!’

The Northern Aldborough Festival is back with a bang later this month after a reduced show last year due to covid.

Nick Hancock chats to organiser Robert Ogden about what he promises to be a “fully fledged festival” and the most packed they’ve ever had.

We hear all about the festival for people that have never been and chat highlights including Blur’s Alex James, leading jazz singer Claire Martin and an in-house opera production.

Nick Hancock revisits Renew HG1 - a cafe-style community group in Harrogate set up to provide an open space for adults who need it.

The group provides a safe space for adults suffering with loneliness or social isolation, giving them a place to take part in activities or simply meet other people.

Nick chats to Zoe Bishop and Matthew Wyatt to find out what people love about the group and how it can help improve the emotional and mental wellbeing of its members.

Nick Hancock is joined by Sgt Paul Cording from North Yorkshire Police ahead of his week-long challenge to raise awareness for road safety.

Roads Policing Sgt Paul Cording will be running or cycling to various locations in the force area to speak to colleagues, school children and bereaved families and raise awareness around road death and all doing our part.

It comes as part of the Andy Cox Challenge in which officers across the country are spreading the message whilst fundraising for RoadPeace – a charity who support families affected by tragedies on the roads.

Nick Hancock is joined by Kate Rogata from Supporting Older People (SOP) to chat about their big appeal for local volunteers!

The charity work with volunteers to give vital support to elderly people in the area who are lonely and suffering with social isolation.

SOP are appealing for 'befrienders' to join their team and visit elderly people in their home, giving up a few hours of their team to make a new friend and create a bond that would mean the world to a lonely elderly person.

Kate also previews the launch of SOP's 'cinema club' and chats about the various group activities they co-ordinate, including days out, group meals and monthly activities at the Crown Hotel.

Nick Hancock is catching up with Sarah Barry, Chief Executive at Harrogate Town, ahead of ‘Thank You Day’ at the club in their penultimate home game against Carlisle.

Sarah talks about the planned festivities, why they wanted to say a big thank you to supporters, and why this has been the most challenging season for the club in recent years.

The day will include photo opportunities, freebies, supporter interaction and exclusive deals from a pop-up shop behind the Aon Stand.

Players will sign autographs and pose for photos with supporters. Awards for Players Player of the Season, Supporters Player of the Season and Away Travel Player of the Season will also be presented.

The shortlist for the Harrogate Hospitality & Tourism Awards have been revealed!

The gala dinner awards ceremony will take place at the Royal Hall on Monday 6th June.

Over 1,000 nominations in total were received ahead of the fourteenth edition of the awards.
