Your Mix Sucks (Mixed by Marc Mozart)

Ready to transform your mixes with minimal fuss? In “5 Surprisingly Simple Moves That Dramatically Improve Your Mix,” we shine a spotlight on the lesser-known—but crazy-effective—techniques pulled straight from Marc Mozart’s iconic guide, Your Mix Sucks. Discover how referencing your work on a cheap kitchen radio can reveal hidden frequency flaws that even top-tier monitors can miss. Learn how properly tuning your kick drum supercharges low-end punch, and why rock-solid gain staging is the foundation of any pro-sounding track. We’ll also share how to generate harmonics (instead of just EQ’ing them) to add warmth and depth, plus a clever approach to parallel compression that gives each element in your mix its own sweet spot. Whether you’re just starting out or an experienced engineer, these five simple moves will breathe new life into your workflow—and your sound. Tune in now on your favorite podcast platform and get ready to hear a dramatic difference in your mixes! For more on Your Mix Sucks, visit mixedbymarcmozart.com
