While Israel was in Egypt they multiplied and prospered because God was with them. However, after Joseph's death they became slaves to the Egyptians. God delivered them from Egyptian bondage, gave them houses, vineyards and good things but they soon forgot the true and living God. They worshipped idols and sacrificed their children in the fire. Forgetting that God is the source of our blessings is a dangerous attitude. God took us out of sin and He gives us the strength we need daily. Let us not forget that He is the source of supply. This is the key to living victoriously on the abundance He bestows upon us.

The Christian Life is compared to a marathon, one which requires perseverance and endurance. Although as Christian we may face several tests and trials we must continue. We look to Jesus who, in this marathon, is our lead runner. He came to earth and he suffered mockery and shame. He went to the cross and endured pain and suffering so that he could provide redemption for the whole human race. Therefore, don't give up. When the road gets tough the best cure is to fix our eyes on Jesus the perfecter of our faith.

Sometimes in life you feel discouraged. Your burdens become so heavy that you don't want to read your bible or hear the word of God. However, we need to remember that God is Omnipotent. He knows about our situations and is always at work on our behalf. In those difficult times we should rest our hope in God. Through the power of the Holy Spirit God will give us power to pull through and fill us with hope and strength to endure.
