If you're feeling stressed about the holidays you've come to the right spot.
Sit back, relax and let Lisa McCaffrey tell you about that time her oven caught fire after cooking the perfect Thanksgiving meal for Claude Lemieux and his family. (Pro tip: don't clean your oven).
Ashley Adamson explains how she ended up in the hospital on Thanksgiving after breaking two bones during a game of competitive charades with her future in-laws.
And Chantal Below may need some major work on her background setup, but her stuffing recipe is DIALED.
If none of this helps soothe your holiday stress, may we recommend pouring yourself some wine, skipping to the end of the episode and enjoying our Thanksgiving moment of gratitude.
We hope you all have a safe and wonderful holiday with people you love. Please know how grateful we are for each and every one of you in our lives.
Sending love and light to all those who are missing somebody this holiday season.

This week, Ashley introduces you to Chantal Below, who we are thrilled to have joining us as a regular contributor on season two. Chantal is a mom of three and an executive leadership coach who works with individuals and teams to challenge their own inhibiting assumptions, or, as she puts it, “giving people the space to pause, recognize their patterns, tendencies, impacts, and choices, and then make a decision about if it’s working.”
After spending time with her over the past six years, Ashley frequently proclaims that, “everyone needs a Chantal in their life”. While we work on cloning Chantal, this episode gives listeners access to her unique perspective and process. Ashley and Chantal’s conversation covers everything from our shared struggle for acceptance, the connection between our best traits and our biggest weaknesses, the power of reframing complacency, our immunity to change, and our ability to question the stories we tell ourselves. Plus, Ashley recounts a personal victory involving direct communication and trash cans.

More about Chantal Below:
Chantal moved from the US to England in third grade. As an expat, she promptly began saying biscuit instead of cookie and spelling color with a ‘u’ in order to fit in. She never developed a love of cricket, but did develop a fascination with humanity, unconsciously examining how different cultures and beliefs expand or limit our choices.
After graduating from Georgetown University, she started her career as a 4th grade teacher with Teach For America, hoping to expand choices for too-often marginalized children in low-income schools. She loved the energy of the kids and the vibrancy of the community, but no one really wanted her teaching long division.
Since then, she’s been exploring the many dimensions of the human condition while avoiding math. She worked for years in the education non-profit world leading teams and developing leadership development programs. Then, she ventured out on her own and started Redcliff Coaching, Inc. She supports leaders in all industries - with clients at Google, Homeless Prenatal Program, and to get out of their own way and live and lead in the way they most want. She also attempts to parent three kids who are curious, compassionate, hysterical, and only vaguely pay attention to her advice. She lives in Oakland, CA.

Your favorite duo is back for Season 2! Join hosts Lisa McCaffrey and Ashley Adamson as they look back on the past four months and forward to the next season of Your Mom™.
Lisa shares updates on the whole McCaffrey crew: Christian’s calming perspective on the 49ers' season, Max’s phenomenal NFL coaching debut, Luke’s signature helmet toss, Dylan’s post-college business ventures (Mazda, we’re open to a sponsorship), and Ed’s latest contribution to the world of sports: Pepper Pong.
Last season’s listeners may remember Lisa manifesting Ashley losing her job at Pac-12 to focus on podcasting full time. To that we say…be careful what you wish for! As the dust settles on the conference’s dissolution, Ashley reflects on the past 11 years with her Pac-12 family and her determination to make the most of their “senior year” together.
We learned so much while recording the first season of Your Mom™. One of our key takeaways is the importance of carving out time and space to share stories. This will be our guiding principle for season 2, and we are thrilled to welcome Chantal Below and Betsy Bloom as recurring contributors on our storytelling journey.
We’re thrilled to have you along for the ride. Thanks as always for listening! Please drop us a line at [email protected].

Your Mom™ is back for season two!
Ashley Adamson and Lisa McCaffrey reunite to celebrate motherhood with a second season of Your Mom™. Enjoy their unfiltered conversations with moms of world class athletes and high achievers as they share personal stories of parenthood that feel both familiar and extraordinary.
We launched this podcast last year to celebrate and shine a light on motherhood. The moms we interviewed taught us a lot, but we came to realize that part of the real value of what we were doing was giving these women the space to reflect on their life experiences. They were all moms of exceptional people, but they were so exceptional themselves. After each episode, they expressed gratitude at being asked to share their story.
So this season, our north star remains motherhood. We will still be interviewing moms of highly successful people and sharing powerful stories like how Lisa McCaffrey once saved her entire soccer team from an earthquake. But we will also explore this broader notion of the power of storytelling in our lives. To help us, we’re adding two new regular contributors, Chantal Below and Betsy Bloom, who we consider experts in this field.
We are thrilled to be back, and we thank you deeply for being on this journey with us.
Please do us a favor and subscribe to the show wherever you listen to podcasts!

Lisa's unending journey for healthy living recently led her to discover Fountain Life, a company dedicated to revolutionizing the healthcare system in order to help people live longer and improve disease detection.
It's a lofty mission and one that our guest, Fountain Life's Chief Medical and Science Officer Dr. Helen Messier, says is fundamental to the future of medicine.
According to the American Cancer Society about 70% of all cancer deaths come from cancers for which there are currently no proven screening tests. So imagine if we could consistently find cancer at stage zero when it's most easily cured? Fountain Life claims their data-driven approach enables them to find cancer, cardiac, metabolic, and neurodegenerative disease early, before they can cause harm.
Dr. Messier received a Bachelor of Science and a PhD in Molecular Immunology from the University of Alberta. She completed post-doctoral studies at the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology in San Diego, CA and received her MD from the University of Calgary. She’s board certified in family medicine. In addition to leading the company’s clinical and scientific programs, Dr. Messier will establish Fountain Life University to train Fountain Life certified practitioners and lead the effort to gain insights and publish findings from Fountain Life’s vast amount of data. In addition to being related to the Hall of Fame hockey player Mark Messier, she found out on this episode that she's about to be related to the McCaffreys. Listen on for an informative conversation about a critical topic, which ends with a fun reveal.

Join Ashley and Lisa on this episode of Your Mom™ as they fulfill their dream of interviewing one of the most influential moms on their bucket list. Pamela Morgan, the mother of world-renowned soccer player Alex Morgan, takes the spotlight.
Alex Morgan was named one of Time's 100 Most Influential People of 2019 and 2022, and her resume speaks for itself. She heads into her third World Cup as one of the most prolific goal scorers in U.S. soccer history. She set a unique record this past February for the most goals scored as a mom in the UWSNT.
But as you will learn through this conversation with Alex's mom, there's so much more to her story. Pam shares insights into what it was like raising Alex, offering a glimpse into her childhood [7:15]. Discover why Alex was a coach's dream and the qualities that set her apart [9:50]. Pam also opens up about the impact of Alex's global success on their family dynamic [12:00], her parenting philosophy [20:00], and why Alex chose to play soccer at Cal [21:30].
Pam shares the thing she's most proud of her daughter for and what she believes her lasting legacy will be [38:55]. She also gives an honest assessment of what she would do differently in her motherhood journey if she could go back and do it all again [48:00].

If laughter really is the best medicine, please sit back and allow this conversation between Lisa McCaffrey and her former Stanford soccer teammate Julie Foudy cure whatever ails you.
Foudy is a two-time FIFA Women's World Cup champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist, but the Hall of Famer's ability to effortlessly roast her old pal with stories from their playing days is almost as impressive as anything she accomplished on the pitch.
Speaking of which, Foudy has some poignant reflections on what the United States' first Women's World Cup win in 1999 did for the sport [15:45]. But she also wonders why that watershed moment didn't catapult the growth of and investment in women's soccer at a faster rate.
Foudy gives a great primer on the upcoming 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup that kicks off next month in Australia and New Zealand [24:50]. Hear her describe the challenges the US Women's National Team will face as they try to make World Cup history with a three-peat.
And as a mom of two teenagers who play soccer and basketball, Foudy has the perfect parenting advice for anyone navigating the youth sports scene [33:33].
Please do yourself a favor and after you're done listening, go subscribe to her podcast, Laughter Permitted. We also highly recommend her book, "Choose to Matter: Being Courageously and Fabulously YOU".
A huge thank you to Julie Foudy for continuing to be courageously and fabulously HER, and helping so many young (and old) people along the way.
