Ten years ago is when the journey began… illness, major surgery, divorce and the need to take care of 3 young boys on her own, this Next Chapter had a tough beginning for Jenny. “How an I earn a living and maintain my sanity without a safety net” was the biggest question that she needed to address.

Emma had always been drawn to making the world more beautiful. As an artist in Switzerland she taught adults how to paint and completed commissions for her own clients as she raised her children. But when her family moved to Sydney the door to her Next Chapter as flung wide open in ways she could not have imagined.

 The GFC hit hard the family hard, as her husband was in the financial industry. Emma found herself needing to transform her hobby and skills into a business entity that could contribute at a higher level. Once she moved through what she described as the “middle class taboo”, the experience of admitting and accepting that “the system” of comfort she had known was no longer available, she took a deep breath, focused, and began to explore how she could generate income in a sustainable way.

“I started by looking at how I could transfer my current skills into a new endeavor. I knew the key was to create something useful, something that was really needed by people. My first Next Chapter. Bespoke Chairs, was delightful and I even won a Pitch Fest in Silicon Valley with my concepts, but the reality was it wasn’t generating enough income so I went back the drawing board.

I wrote out my Perfect Day as a business owner, how I really wanted to work and who with, and that helped me to identify what I did not want – which is the starting point for any new endeavor!”.

And on the heels of that discovery, helped along by research and awareness in Facebook Groups, Bespoke Backdrops was born.

With a background in journalism – “serious” journalism, Karenna never expected the flavour and focus of her eventual Next Chapter to encompass helping women to find love and improve their relationships. She enjoyed the challenge of news journalism, was enticed by broadcasting and was anchored in the value of tangible success by her academic family.

“I loved it until I didn’t anymore” is the way Shelli described her feelings about her corporate career with Proctor and Gamble. By all measurements it had been a very successful experience, with Shelli rising to the top with her leadership, project management, event planning and teaching skills. But it was time for a change. Her own Next Chapter was looming and so she began to lay the foundation for her new direction 2 years before she actually took early retirement at 52.

A lifetime of chronic pain subsided when Kristen discovered Pilates and this incredible experience opened the door to what she knows is her life’s’ work - “helping people to enjoy being in their body” as they bring Pilates into their everyday life for strength, flexibility and longevity.

It was testing the concept of mini experiments out for herself that helped Nikki Smith to truly understand the power of starting small, going slow and trying on a next chapter for size before fully committing, boots and all.

One of the things I am asked most often in my Clarity Sessions is “how do I package my services?”. And it’s a great question, as this is the backbone of your business and what I call your “Offer Staircase”.

In 2009 Brenda and her family arrived in Tasmania from South Africa. It was a dream come true, a breath of fresh air, a safe haven and the opportunity to start afresh after a corporate career.

 But it was also a shock.

 “I not very domesticated, and didn’t do well in captivity” laughed Brenda when we spoke. “And to be honest, I felt as though I had lost my identity. I was no longer the Corporate High Achiever. So who was I? I had no job in this new city, was a stay at home Mum for the first time in a very long time and I wanted, needed, to contribute. And so the journey into redefining myself began”.

 Brenda’s ‘Phoenix moment” revealed itself when she was googling “work from home” and the amongst all of the results, the topic of coaching came up. She realise that she wanted to be coached, to help her find a new path forward. The door opened, the dots connected and not long after, Brenda found herself travelling to Melbourne completing Certificate 4 in Coaching.

Today Brenda provides a powerful blend of business and life coaching with a core message of the importance of developing “The Courage to Bloom” to a growing community of women in Australia and around the world.

Just over 30 yeas ago Lynn Robinson arrived at the funeral of a friend and heard a voice telling her to “please sit here”, beside a woman that she did not know. She took her seat, but when she looked around to thank the speaker, there was no one physically there.

In a beautiful example of divine timing, universal support and the importance of following your intuition, the conversation that followed threw open the door to a wonderful new world for Lynn. She responded to the simple question of what do you do, with what she truly desired to be - “I’m an Intuitive Reader” rather than the actuality of her current situation, “Project Manager at a Software Firm”. The woman asked to book a reading and ended up sharing the experience with her audience – she was a writer for the local paper. Over 500 enquiries flowed through to Lynn’s fledging business over the next month.

She never looked back and a flourishing, deeply rewarding career has been the result.
