We had an awesome opportunity to sit down with MG Matt McFarlane and CSM Adam Nash, command team for 4th Infantry Division and U.S. Army Fort Carson to talk about the unique and wonderful things the division is doing for our Army. MG McFarland expressed getting the formation to understand the peaks and valleys in life and wanted their peak to be higher. He also mentioned “Be an expert at what you do!" The positive energy he and the CSM expressed to me has the “Ivy Division” on a phenomenal pace to continue meeting the needs of our Army.

COL (R) DJ Reyes takes us through the Veteran Treatment Court program which emphasizes wellness of our Veterans through rehabilitation not punishment. Getting them re-integrated back not only with their community but with their loved ones and families.  “This is not a hand out,” he states. “This is a hand up!”

MSG (R) Leroy Petry takes us on his spellbinding journey through the mission to capture a Taliban target in Paktia Province of Afghanistan that led to him be awarded the Medal of Honor. You won’t want to miss this harrowing story of bravery and courage of America’s armed forces.

These two great Soldiers pull back the curtain to give us a behind the scenes look at the inner workings of the Army’s premier installation for training and deployment of heavy forces at Fort Hood.

Ms Phyllis Wilson, President of the Military Women’s Memorial, discusses the impact women have had on our military throughout the history of our country and how their contributions and commitments are so honored in the nation’s only historical repository documenting all military women’s service.

Stephen Lofgren, historian with the U.S. Army Center of Military History, discusses in detail the first account of 9/11 that he wrote which describes how so many were suddenly thrust into a nightmare in which they had to struggle together just to survive.

Eden Murrie, E.J.
