Yes they are named after the band from Scooby Doo and the Witch's Ghost! Hex Girls all the way from Cedar Falls joins us and kicks some ass in the studio! I got to chat and goof around with the guys a bit afterwards after the set, and of course we recorded it. Just gettting back from a tour to promote their new album, this band is making a name for themselves!! You may know Elliot by his stage name Bar Attender or for his band Less Poetry (formerly Lesbian Poetry)! The music that he writes is something special, and I think he may be one of the best lyricists in the midwest if not the whole U.S. Elliot and I sat down and talked about everything from his stint as mumfords trumpet player, working on his new pop project, and writting for The Future Babies. It was a real pleasure getting to talk to Elliot!

The Hobo Squirrels are a two and sometime three piece band out of Des Moines, they are all young artists still in High School and Middle School but there music is fantastic! I had a great time chatting wwith Braelyn and Theo and really look forward to what they will do in the future!

A few weeks ago Annalibera came into the studio and we recorded a session for the show! I had a bast talking with Anna and Ryan about touring, Anna's song writing, and Ryan and I maybe connected over being born in the same hospital. Needless to say had a lot of fun, and got called a big dummy, because I am.

The Host Country, a five piece Indie Folk band sat down in the studio for episode 34. This band was a lot of fun to get to know, from talking of trivia nights to discussung venues and getting into detail about their recent album and newest single we covered a lot of ground.

Jim Coppoc comes into the studio to discuss his career as a songwriter and poet and his journey through life as both. From truck driving to parenthood to revializing folk songs, Jim and I cover a lot in our hour long session.

This episode was recorded back at the end of March when the guys from Halfloves were rolling through Ames. This is probably the goofiest and one of the most fun epsiodes I had recording. Half of what you hear the band didnt know they were being recorded so it created a good sense of general humor. I had a blast hanging out with these guys again!!
