One of my oldest friends in Dallas, we met 20 years ago when she interviewed my Leadership Forum students for her doctoral thesis on Modes of Engagement! Today I'm joined by the Newest Chapter of the Association of Business Technology Professionals, the International Online chapter. Together, with Bill Fly, VP, Harish Rajagopalan, Secretary, Glenn Evans, Treasurer, Bersabeh Alemu, Member at Large, and other members from the local ABTP DFW proto chapter, we introduce ABTP to the next generation of business technology leaders in my DBU Masters of Science in IT and Management, Digital Transformation class and challenge them to ‘future proof’ the offering through a Blue Ocean analysis, the “product” and a local ABTP DBU student chapter election and beginning will be the challenge for my Product Management class for this semester as well.

Bill Fly and I explain the history and ideals, walk through the Bylaws and introduce the robust code of ethics, which was passed down through time and has been modernized to include concepts like remote meetings and things not originally considered. We hold a quick BOD meeting to formally begin the ABTP International Chapter and will be back to hear proposals and then recommendations from the 4 teams in 2 classes soon.

Today I'm joined by Richard Miles. Richard was wronged by the criminal justice system. Wrongly accused. Wrongly Convicted. Incarcerated for 15 years. Freed and gracious! Not a victim, but courageous and bold, for the past 10 years creating Miles of Freedom to help others land and thrive in a crime-free lifestyle!

His calm spirit and unspeakable forgiveness and grace towards those who harmed him spiritually moved me when I witness his interview in the audience of Trevor Houston’s Who Ya Know job seeker show! Now, months later I met him to share his story in detail at my home studio. His is a story of redemption AND being more than a conqueror! You will be moved for 2 hours, I promise you! In the summer of 1994, Richard was wrongly arrested and convicted of murder and attempted murder. Richard was 19 years old and lost 15 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division, fighting for his life, innocence, and freedom. Richard’s family advocated on his behalf... now helping others and continuing to grow himself and his community!
