Since I moved to Colorado 9 years ago, I’ve been extremely vocal about how different mental healthcare is here. And not in a good way.
Moving to Northern Colorado has given me hope - but only for Northern Colorado. Denver and the surrounding areas are still light years behind where things need to be.
In the conversations.
In the education.
In the services they provide.
A recent Douglas County Elementary School made headlines - for alllll the wrong reasons, as indicated by this title:
“DougCo elementary school uses excessive restraint on second-grader”
On today’s episode of The Be Ruthless Show, I discuss YOUR RIGHTS. I discuss services that are available to your children, although they’re not advertised or offered. I discuss when and how you need to become involved.
These are YOUR children. No decision should be made without your input, and theirs for that matter.
I discuss the importance of having an advocate who is NOT part of the school staff. I discuss it all - because there IS support available.
And you deserve it. Your kids deserve it!
