In diverse communities, people have unique access needs that sometimes conflict. For instance, one person’s vocal stimming might cause auditory overload for someone else. Similarly, captions can aid auditory processing for some but distract others. These situations highlight the challenge of balancing differing needs without placing blame. By viewing these conflicts as structural issues, we can collaboratively develop strategies that respect everyone’s requirements.
