5 tips to become self-aware:

1.) Learn how to listen to your body, and make sure to fill your tank with the things that make you FEEL good.

2.) Change your mindset around food. Food is your fuel, and gives you energy. What you put into your body will either make you feel good, or it will make you feel like crap. Fuel your body with what makes you feel good. 

3.) Drink more water. You should be drinking 1/2 a gallon a day. 

4.) Exercise makes your body feel so good, so make sure to move your body everyday.

5.) Do all these consistently over time, in order to actually feel a change in your body. Also, keeping track of how you feel after doing these tips, will help you understand how your body works, and will help you form better habits.
