Beyond the realm of board and video games, one of my greatest passions is stories and storytelling.  When you step into a new story you are transported to a different world, experiencing the lives and adventures of incredible people.  It brings me immense joy when given the opportunity to play through epic tales within the realm of board games, and watching characters and the world grow from play to play will never cease to bring a smile to my face.  Join me today as I look at the idea of campaign games, and journey with hobbits and elves in LORD OF THE RINGS: JOURNEYS IN MIDDLE EARTH, and then try out a new mechanism I hope to see in other games, the idea of dice-building in DICE FORGE.  As always, thank you for your support and for listening to each episode.  I love you all.

But there came a time when I realized there were some places I wouldn’t be able to visit, mostly because Middle Earth and Hoth don’t exist. Fortunately the world of board games has expanded my horizons and allowed me to travel to places beyond my wildest dreams, from the lively and magical GLOOMHAVEN to the dark and creepy halls of BETRAYAL AT HOUSE ON THE HILL. Well, in the wonderful board gaming hobby we have our own set of symbols and pictographs to learn, which we tie together in the neat category of iconography. Icons are everywhere in board gaming, from cards, to the board, and to the rule book, and they are both the bane and boon to those trying to teach games.
