Your Uncle's Beach House

It’s a new year but the anime doesn’t stop as Emmeline is joined by Olivia and Ina to discuss the manga that started it all (not really), the other other OTHER Umamusume spin-off that had everyone talking as its anime adaptation hit last year. We read the original, and have a lot of thoughts about sports drama booking and fumbling a bunch of women who are down bad for the blandest girl alive.

Beach House enters a mirror, darkly as Em is joined by Olivia and Ina to talk about the inversion of MyGO!!!!!, where music alienates and makes feelings obscured and girls really should probably go get an adult you’re stressing me ooooout. That’s right, we watch Ave Mujica, and end up having A Lot Of Thoughts about this especially contrasted with MyGO!!!!!

Em and Export Audio’s Autumn finally finished the long-running manga series Land of the Lustrous as its final volume was released in English last month. Now we’re here to talk about how much we love these wayward gems, the empty world they inhabit, and the big ideas they aspire to. Truly one of the all time greats.

This was originally posted in the Ghost Divers feed as a Manga Cafe. Please go subscribe if you haven’t at exportaud.io!

Beach House returns once again as Em is joined by Olivia and Ina to talk about one of the more beloved girl’s band anime of the modern era, and we end up on an odyssey of love and hate, hopes and despair, and the weird shipping energy of these girls. Please enjoy!

Em pulls the dust covers off the furniture to invite three of her favorite sickos back to the summer villa to watch some filth! This time she’s joined by Dia (https://bsky.app/profile/dialacina.com), Niamh (https://bsky.app/profile/foxmomnia.exportaud.io), and Ina (https://bsky.app/profile/poyfuh.bsky.social) to talk about the hentai OVA that popularized tentacles in the West (supposedly, I didn’t validate this claim). Please join us as we watch the uncensored three episode OVA and find it ..,. pretty good????

I'm joined today by Red (@gender_redacted) to have a casual discussion about Legend of the Galactic Heroes. I read the books, they've seen the anime, and we just kinda shoot the shit about our favourite guys and our frustrations with the series and its reputation.

It's time for the final Beach House of 2023, and we read Delicious in Dungeon! The whole thing! It's a great manga and we had a good time discussing it even if our job is pretty difficult because the main thing is just: look at it. I mean look at it bro.

We'll be back next year with a slightly reduced Beach House schedule but we'll update you ahead of time on what the next episode is going to be!

The strike is over! After what seems like a lifetime, the 2023 writers strike came to an end and with it the request podcasts not do promotional work. Which means we can get back to talking about movies! We’re really excited, but also it’s been a tough year, so we decided to make one short episode talking about where we’re at, where we’re headed, and if you’re seeing this in your feed, what that means for the show you’re listening to. Sorry to Beach House for being the kinda bad news winner this shake up.

Also, as a thank you to everyone for supporting us, the newest voip recorded days before the strike began is now up free for everyone at patreon.com/abnormalmapping! You don’t have to, but while you’re there maybe think about subscribing? It truly helps us out a lot.

Until the next real episode, Amurooooooo!

I'm joined this time by Liv to talk about Hyouka, the 2012 KyoAni mystery show that gave us a lot to chew on. Thank you so much to Liv for coming thru again, go listen to TBH: An Anime Podcast!

We’re back! With one of our most relevant Beach Houses actually talking about a topical show. It’s time to watch the breakout hit of 2022, Bocchi the Rock!

Next Month: Terror in Resonance
