Here's an essay I wrote waaaay back in 2016, right after the blow to our collective reality represented by the election of a reality star as President of the United States.
It basically deals with how making stuff up that incites fear and loathing and then repeating it over and again was going to be used (and ended up being used!) to manipulate people into becoming a base for evil actions.

This time around I talk about what I discovered in researching newspapers from the early XX Century, how "slant" or "angle" or just "let's make up a narrative" became more important that holding people accountable for their actions, almost getting an innocent man hung from a tree.

In this episode in the Trailing edge of a generation series, I reminisce about hearing protest songs in my tender years and bring subtle attention to a singer-songwriter who I and some others think has taken up the mantle, though I’m not sure he’d consider himself as important as those who came before him.
Times, they have changed and the youth are not all open to being challenged.

Hello fans. This video is some commentary around the creation of the episode "Animal crackers", created for "you're listening to radio revel" in the "Keyhole witness" series.
There's some commentary about being told the "truth", being lied to, trying to tell the difference, alternative facts, conspiracy theory and some other stuff. Hope you enjoy the added material.

This article at Medium has me talking about a possible motivation behind the bank robbery that is the real event. Not trying to justify the crime, but yes, trying to understand what would lead a young man to take that which is not his. It can be understood, even if not condoned.Script and narration by revel arroway

Locked doors stand between us and the skeletons hidden behind them. Keyholes let us see the bones.
This is Keyhole witness.
This week marks the end of the first batch of Keyhole witness stories. Well, I say first as if there might be a second, and I'm not really sure there might be. In order to deal with that and kind of explain myself, let you guys look through the keyhole into my recording studio, I sat down to an interview with my fictional radio star, Jaiden Smith, who will ask me some questions and I'll hopefully give some satisfactory answers.
What I tell I do not report, I merely tell. Please enjoy!

Today's episode launches from the podcast episode "Heartburn" on "you're listening to radio revel", the "Keyhole witness" series.
As I looked over old journals and newspaper accounts, I found myself again looking at the rhyming pattern of history, nearly 200 years ago things were not all that different than from today, tariffs, deportations, poverty, wealth, all human conditions we've yet to overcome. Here's some links for you to follow:Music:Theme: NFLD by Mr SmithIncidental: Black top by Mr Smithhttps://freemusicarchive.org/Transcription this videoEpisode 09 "Heartburn"Transcription Episode 09#professionaljournals, #spontaneouscombustion, #haironfire, #unsolvedmystery, #timewarp, #sciencedenial, #historyrhymes, #tariffs, #deportation, #trailoftears, #freedomofpress
Locked doors conceal secrets. Keyholes let us catch a glimpse inside.
