Speaker Bio:
Weylin is an advocate for sustainable tourism and the environment. Raised in Durango, Colorado, he developed a deep appreciation for his surroundings from a young age, leading to him becoming an Eagle Scout and working as a raft guide. He saw firsthand the positive and negative impacts of increasing tourism on his local environment.
He works for Visit Durango as Sustainability & Policy Manager, using his Masters of Sustainable Tourism from the University of Arizona to assess visitor impact on La Plata County, Colorado. Additionally, he volunteers with The Sustainability Alliance of Southwest Colorado (SASCO) and is co-authoring a book series about U.N Sustainable Development Goals. He is a certified Expert in Continual Improvement for Social Responsibility (CISR).
When not working or volunteering, Weylin lives in Durango with his wife and son, whom he encourages to learn from nature through outdoor activities.
