It can be easy to cross the line of honor, and neglecting your non-negotiables. It is not worth dishonoring our core values to ourselves because we want to people please. Praying and asking God for wisdom is so important to be able to navigate decisions that we make. Discerning the voice of God in these important areas of your life can help you walk in wisdom and you will be able to trust when the Holy Spirit is telling you to make tough decisions. We all have heard the term "shame on you", but in Christ there is no condemnation. God wants to bring healing from shame, mental torture, and carrying someone else's shame.
