Men are way more emotionally intelligent than we get credit for. That's because people are confused. It's not emotionally intelligent to constantly show your emotions.

In fact, that's the complete opposite of being intelligent.

Trust me, you don't want to see or hear how I need to process things at times. It's not good. I have to cycle through a few things in my head to get the bad stuff out so the appropriate response comes forward.

Do you know what happens when men show emotion too much? It tends to make the news in a big way. Those are the people raised to think SHOWING emotion is intelligent. Learn to process it and respond. Sometimes, that means suppressing things until you are with another man who can handle the outburst. Other times, it's just a cycle of internal aggression to get that initial reaction out of the way. It's kind of like writing a nasty email response before deleting it and writing a more productive one.
