Robinson is a player for the 76ers, Founder of the Ari Foundation, and 2017 Slam Dunk Champion. On today's episode we discuss recently having his career season with the Golden State Warriors, how tough being traded is, what fatherhood means to him, and telling us more about the Ari Foundation. I'm super excited for everyone to hear from an NBA player on my podcast but most importantly understand who he is without a basketball in his hand.

I had the pleasure of having an hour of Jelani Floyd's time to record this podcast. He dropped nothing but gems and revealed his unfiltered opinion and allowed us a glimpse into his raw journey of becoming a sports agent. Jelani went from being a professional basketball player overseas to becoming a sports agent, Co- Founder of Beyond Athlete Management, and transforming the lives of significant basketball players.
He provided his thoughts on the recent NBA strike, the insincerity of business that takes place within CAA and other big agencies, and his agenda when it comes to "adding value" to players on and off the court. If you're an aspiring agent, I'd suggest you listen. If you're an athlete trying to figure out which agents have your best interest, I'd suggest you listen. This is definitely a conversation you don't want to miss!

Hey everyone! We are back at it again with another episode and guess what.... I finally got an Illini athlete! I thought it'd be no better athlete to bring on first than a football player because of climate due to the recent unfortunate news that their season has been postponed.
Jartavius Martin is a DB on the Illini football team and is currently a junior. Stats wise, Jartavius has already made some history on the field since he became an Illini. I spoke with Jartavius on a myriad of topics socially & connected to football.
We talked about why football players want to play, who he is without football, and his initial reaction when finding out the season was postponed. This was definitely an interesting conversation and it was great to hear from the POV of a D1 Athlete. I hope you all enjoy!

August 28, 2020 "THe ReVOlutIOn wIlL bE TeLEVisEd"
This week was a historical week for sports and so much has happened in the span of two days! I remember before the season started, the big question was is the NBA a distraction. People were lingering over the thought of if they can truly utilize their platform and if basketball is actually what the nation needed right now. My response to this was that basketball wasn't a distraction and how they can use their platform to make change.
But oh how the tables do turn quickly. Today, my perspective is that basketball is a distraction. The NBA had a chance to do something extremely legendary with boycotting the playoffs and guess what... THEY FOLDED.. like they always do. This is extremely sad & unfortunate.
I use this time during the podcast to update you all on podcast changes and accomplishments, enlighten you on the shooting of Jacob Blake, and lastly talk about this false alarm of boycotting that NBA players have. Enjoy!

August 21, 2020 Why does women's basketball trigger so much fragile masculinity?
Hey everyone! I would like to start off by saying thank you to everyone who has tuned in and supported me this entire way. Men lie, women lie, but numbers don't. AND IM LOVING THE NUMBERS RIGHT NOW! 8/19 was the 2 month anniversary of the debut of the podcast and on the same day the podcast reached 1K total plays! I'm so proud of this accomplishment and I truly feel the love. Once again, THANK YOU!
Now for today's episode.... SEXISM! That's the topic. Over this past week I've seen lots of slander to the WNBA and most important disrespect by sexualizing women playing basketball. Te'a Cooper was the latest victim on Twitter.. SMH. I've experienced sexism my entire life and have encountered the excuses for why people rather watch men play basketball than women. Outside of my personal experiences, I also support this by referencing a Black classic which is Love & Basketball. Have you ever noticed the microcosm of sexism within that movie? If not, here's your time to be enlightened.

For the first time in NFL history, during this years draft more than 50% of the 1st round draft picks were represented by black agents. This is definitely a huge stride however, Joshua & I dive more into why this is only just happening in 2020! Joshua touches on his process of become an agent, being under the mentorship of the legendary Eugene Parker, and his thoughts on the Rooney Rule.

July 24, 2020 A Controversial King
In the midst of the Black Lives Matter movement, it's been hard to weave out the real from the fake. Many organizations and companies aren't genuine with their allegiance to stopping the endangerment of Black lives. However, the NBA especially is an organization that is built on the backs of African American males. Therefore, if they didn't speak up or take any actions then their organization would truly look bad! As a result, the NBA has created many ideas however, the one causing the most controversy is having Black Lives Matter references on the backs of players jerseys.
LeBron James is one of the players that decided he wouldn't participate because he wasn't consulted about the choice of slogans and it doesn't fit his "brand and mission". However, I think we've all see LeBron in warmups with these same sayings on a T-Shirt. I find that slightly hypocritical.
ANYWAY! I discuss this topic within the podcast today and I think my perspective will get you all talking! Ask yourself, what would you wear on the back of your jersey?
