There are TONS of rules and expectations📝 for how women should carry themselves if they want to be “chosen”, but how often do we question the motives of the men who choose them🤔? We see sermons about women needing to operate as wives👰🏾‍♀️ and not “walk in the spirit of girlfriend” 💁🏾‍♀️and or refrain from spreading “hoe seeds”🌱 to reap marriage benefits💍, but where is this energy for the husbands who often get these quality women and continuously betray them? We romanticize marriage as a goal for women at early ages👧🏽 …but is the hype worth being a wife🤷🏿‍♀️? The Black church is an experience that is nuanced with history and culture🖤. For example, we all joke about Black church being hours upon hours long😩, serving plates of southern food in the back after service😋, enormous sparkling church hats 👒 that nobody can see over, and ushers who could double as security guards over the week💥👊🏾💥.

However, some people who make up the Black church lack true knowledge of who God is simply because the focus is more on the nature of church, or the service/program than having relationship, teaching, and application of God's word/character.

Friendship is one of life's most beautiful gifts. Real friends can be hard to come by, but when you have them you also have support, love, laughter, memories, and SO much fun! However, everybody is NOT your friend and it can be devastating to go through the process of learning who is and who ain't! Some friends you ride with for life and others make you have to shake the dust off your feet as you leave their lives! The bible says bad company corrupts good character so we MUST be intentional about who we position ourselves around.
