You've Got Potential!

Hear from Faiza about mapping the brain, the neuroscience of learning sound, and the Project SUPER undergraduate research program! Faiza is a genetics major and an undergraduate researcher in the CLEF Lab, which investigates the epigenetic mechanisms involved in auditory learning and memory. 

Faiza joined the lab through the Project SUPER research program offered through the Douglass Residential College for women at Rutgers, and she also served as a peer mentor for the Introduction to Scientific Research course associated with the program. Find out more in the links below!

Medical progress, molecular mental health, and how you can help patients! We really enjoyed talking to cell biology and neuroscience major Allen Fu about his project on the molecular underpinnings of schizophrenia. He is a passionate advocate towards better care and better therapies for mental health patients and hopes to one day be able to help deliver therapies that efficiently change his patients' lives.

Missing bones, bog bodies and everything criminal minds hasn’t told you about insects in forensics! Talking with Sandy was a fantastic example of the unbelievably interdisciplinary nature of science, and a great reminder that there is no such thing as something not worth discovering! We hope you enjoy this episode, where you’ll learn about archeology, forensics, and entomology in a way you likely haven’t before, all while also hearing Sandy’s story figuring out her life and aspirations!
