En muchas ocasiones he sentido un bajón de ánimo, la lucha del día a día para resolver los problemas que van apareciendo de manera paulatina y que se van reproduciendo de manera descontrolada. Luego, me lleno de valor y me dedico a ir solucionando, me ocupo en preparar una lista de jerarquía en cuanto a la relevancia que presenta cada uno. Y, la mayoría de las veces logro resolver todos y cada uno de ellos. Y, siento el subidón, me siento orgullosa y como una heroína en pleno siglo XXI.

Tengo como precepto que el fracaso consiste en no tratar, por eso y huyéndole a sentirme frustrada en el intento, soy perseverante y, siempre y cuando la solución no esté en manos del “otro”, logro salir airosa. Eso me hace sentir satisfecha y orgullosa.

Esta actitud ante la vida me hace sentir una persona capaz de librar cualquier batalla. Y no es que ocurra en los últimos años que vivimos en Venezuela, sino que desde que tengo uso de razón he sido así ante la vida en el contexto donde me haya encontrado.

Insisto, en esa lista jerárquica que elaboro voy solucionando, paso a paso. Sin embargo, hay otras donde la experiencia de la vida me ha enseñado a no insistir y tacharla de una vez, pues no podré hacerle frente porque depende del otro; la mayoría de las veces testarudo en sus principios y que solo me afectará al desgastarme. Allí aplico aquello de que “el tiempo todo lo cura”.

Esta introducción que les presento y que pretende ubicarlos en mi espíritu de lucha, de solucionar, solventar o resolver todas esas situaciones que van apareciendo sobre la marcha.

La experiencia me ha enseñado a seguir avanzando siempre, a “buscarle la vuelta”, ver desde otro punto de vista lo que estoy viviendo y eso me hace sentir muy feliz.

No me quedo sin hacer nada, siempre busco seguir hacia adelante. Si algo no me resulta, de inmediato aplico plan b, plan c, hasta el plan z. Y cuando veo que no hay salida por allí, termino de cerrar la puerta y busco abrir otras salidas: alguna ventana o un tragaluz.

A esta altura de mi vida, me considero una persona libre, que puedo realizar lo que deseo cuando y como quiero, sin afectar a terceros.

En esa búsqueda de sentirme en Paz y con ganas de seguir siempre hacia adelante, la mayoría de las veces me siento satisfecha y crece el orgullo interno sobre mí.

Cada quien busca la manera de drenar esas situaciones que rompen su tranquilidad. En mi caso, el contacto con la naturaleza, la lectura, escuchar y cantar; hasta bailar sola, pero principalmente la escapada a una playa que tiene para mí el mejor efecto curativo. Estar frente al mar me cura el Alma y una vez sanada, vuelvo otra vez a la carga.

Llego ligera, libre de preocupaciones y con una alegría que se esparce por cada vena de mi cuerpo. El olor a sal, la brisa marina, el romper de las olas, ese sonido mágico y maravilloso me hacen sentir plenamente libre, curada; algo así como un “reseteo”, lo que me permite visualizar todo desde otro punto de vista.

Agradezco el hecho de estar viva y poder disfrutar de cada momento que me hacen crecer como ser humano. Reconocer mis desaciertos, mis defectos hace que vuelva a la realidad, pero ya con otra visión de mundo.

Esa actitud ante la vida, la de no rendirme y seguir siempre hacia adelante, hace que sienta que vivo momentos extraordinarios y mi Ser está feliz de los resultados que he ido obteniendo, en todos los ámbitos.

The smell of salt, the sea breeze, the crashing of the waves, that magical and wonderful sound make me feel fully free, healed; something like a “reset”, which allows me to visualize everything from another point of view.

I am grateful to be alive and to be able to enjoy every moment that makes me grow as a human being. Recognizing my mistakes, my defects, makes me come back to reality, but with a different vision of the world.

That attitude towards life, the one of not giving up and always moving forward, makes me feel that I live extraordinary moments and my Being is happy with the results I have been obtaining, in all areas.

Hoy, me presento ante esta prestigiosa Comunidad, para contarles sobre la experiencia que viví el 27 de enero de 2024. Iré comentando, cada uno de los episodios inolvidables que viví ese último sábado del primer mes del año.

Quizás muchos conozcan esta Caminata – Peregrinación, otros habrán participado en ella. Unos trotando, otros corriendo, pero yo la realicé caminando.

Primero, debo aclarar que llevo años participando en este Gran Evento. Sin embargo, el año 2023 no pude hacerlo debido a una lesión que sufrí en mi rodilla izquierda ¡Casi que queda molida la rótula! (así me lo dijo la Doctora). Me vi en la necesidad de guardar reposo absoluto, pues les confieso que entre el intenso dolor y el pensar que no iba a poder seguir practicando senderismo ni mucho menos montañismo, sentía que ese reposo duró una eternidad. Y, les confieso, que la primera vez que salí, sentía tanto temor por lo que pudiera pasarle a mi rodilla izquierda, que todo el esfuerzo lo hice con la pierna derecha y hasta el zapato se me despegó.

Superada esa “prueba de fuego”, retomé mi caminata diaria pero no pasaba de 10 kilómetros. Luego, como no sentía dolor y ya el miedo había pasado, comencé a entrenar de verdad, 20 o 25 kilómetros al día. Realicé la Caminata de Montaña de El Hatillo en honor a la Virgen Santa Rosalía de Palermo, son 24 kilómetros de montaña. En el kilómetro 21, pedí que me transportaran hasta la Plaza Bolívar de El Hatillo debido a que estaba sintiendo una molestia en la rodilla afectada. Eso fue a finales de agosto de 2023.

Pasado unos días, retomé con disciplina y empeño mi entrenamiento, al principio todos los días recorría 20 kilómetros, en asfalto y con fuertes subidas. Incluso en noviembre me llegué hasta la Capilla de la Virgen del Carmen (ida y vuelta), y en diciembre llegué hasta La Cumbre.

En enero, hacía 20 kilómetros y descansaba 2 días, hasta que una semana antes de la Caminata, decidí salir solo un día y los demás los dediqué a descansar. Masajes, cremas y mucho reposo.

El día viernes lo dediqué a dormir, ver televisión, comer un mega plato con pasta, pollo y plátanos al vapor. Y a seguir acostada. Salíamos de madrugada desde La Victoria, el día sábado 27 de enero, por lo que desde el jueves tenía organizado lo que llevaría conmigo.

El corazón acelerado ante la multitud de caminantes que nos dimos cita en la Alcabala de El Limón, Maracay, Aragua, Venezuela y la confianza en mis piernas para lograr el reto que me había trazado.

Conocí a muchos caminantes, saludé a los ciclistas que cuidaban nuestros pasos y me reencontré con viejos conocidos de años anteriores. No tomé ni una foto durante el trayecto, pero sí me tomaron ¡Ja ja ja ja ja! No quería detenerme por nada del mundo, pero el “toque técnico” que tengo en el riñón izquierdo me obligaba a parar, orinar y proseguir. Dejé marcado todo el Parque Nacional Henri Pittier.

Al llegar a La Cumbre, como es mi ritual, grité a viva voz “YA ESTOY EN OCUMARE”. Allí me tomé una foto con un compañero de ruta.

La mejor idea que pude tener, previamente, fue llevarme los audífonos e ir escuchando la selección de la música que me da vigor y mucho ánimo. Así transcurrió mi recorrido. Hidratándome, comiendo cambur, “pases” de sal, caramelos, patilla, chocolate, naranja… ¡Hasta que llegué al temido Cumboto!

De allí en adelante no hay sombra ni árboles, es plana la carretera y el sol derrite a cualquiera. Para mí esa es “la prueba de fuego”. ¡La superé!

De inmediato, busqué mi medalla, me senté en un banco, al lado de la Iglesia y me quité los zapatos. Ya cómoda con mis sandalias, fui a agradecer y a pedir de nuevo a San Sebastián. Le prendí su velita roja. Salí de allí rumbo a la licorería a buscar mi “otra medalla” y de allí me fui hasta El Playón, donde estaba la posada que alquilamos. Pueden ver el recibimiento en el video.

Después de tomarme mi regalo, me cambié, y con mi traje de baño me metí en el spa (que estaba solito). Masajes por todas partes y salí como nueva.

Solo pido a San Sebastián que me dé la oportunidad para realizar esta caminata el próximo año.

Mi recomendación: Usar la indumentaria que esté amoldada a su cuerpo, desde los zapatos, ropa interior y vestimenta deportiva. Usar gorra y protector solar. Llevar solo lo indispensable, no cargar mucho peso en la espalda. Y, recordar mi lema: ¡Siempre adelante!

I had to keep absolute rest, because I confess that between the intense pain and the thought that I would not be able to continue hiking, let alone mountaineering, I felt that this rest lasted an eternity. And, I confess, that the first time I went out, I was so afraid of what might happen to my left knee, that I made all the effort with my right leg and even my shoe came off.

Once I passed that “test of fire”, I resumed my daily walk, but I did not go more than 10 kilometers. Then, as I felt no pain and the fear had passed, I started to train for real, 20 or 25 kilometers a day. I did the El Hatillo Mountain Walk in honor of the Virgin Santa Rosalia de Palermo, 24 kilometers of mountain. At kilometer 21, I asked to be transported to the Plaza Bolivar of El Hatillo because I was feeling a discomfort in the affected knee. That was at the end of August 2023.

After a few days, I resumed my training with discipline and determination, at first every day I ran 20 kilometers, on asphalt and with steep climbs. In November I even went as far as the Chapel of the Virgen del Carmen (round trip), and in December I went as far as La Cumbre.

In January, I did 20 kilometers and rested 2 days, until a week before the Walk, I decided to go out only one day and the rest I dedicated to rest. Massages, creams and lots of rest.

Friday was dedicated to sleep, watch TV, eat a mega dish with pasta, chicken and steamed bananas. And to continue lying down. We were leaving early in the morning from La Victoria, on Saturday, January 27, so since Thursday I had organized what I would take with me.

I met many walkers, I greeted the cyclists who were watching our steps and I met again with old acquaintances from previous years. I didn't take a single photo along the way, but they did take my picture! I didn't want to stop for anything in the world, but the “technical touch” I have in my left kidney forced me to stop, pee and continue. I left the entire Henri Pittier National Park marked.

When I arrived at La Cumbre, as is my ritual, I shouted loudly “I AM ALREADY IN OCUMARE”. There I took a picture with a fellow traveler.

The best idea I could have, previously, was to take my headphones and listen to the selection of music that gives me vigor and a lot of encouragement. That's how my ride went. Hydrating myself, eating cambur, “pases” of salt, candies, patilla, chocolate, orange... Until I reached the dreaded Cumboto!

From there on there is no shade or trees, the road is flat and the sun melts anyone. For me that is “the test of fire”. I passed it!

I immediately looked for my medal, sat down on a bench next to the church and took off my shoes. Now comfortable in my sandals, I went to thank and pray again to St. Sebastian. I lit his little red candle. I went to the liquor store to get my “other medal” and from there I went to El Playón, where the posada we rented was located. You can see the reception in the video.

El domingo 21 de abril de 2024, decidimos realizar la caminata desde El Mirador hasta la Capilla de la Virgen del Carmen (ida y vuelta), Maracay, Aragua, Venezuela.

El clima estuvo inmejorable y disfrutamos de la ruta, mientras íbamos admirando la naturaleza, conversando y tomando fotografías de aquello que nos llamaba la atención.

Es importante tener presente, en especial si estás iniciando en el Senderismo, que la indumentaria y el peso que llevarás durante la travesía son sumamente importantes.

En cuanto a la indumentaria, debes usar unos zapatos que ya estén “curados” y amoldados a tus pies. Nada de estrenar zapatos al realizar una caminata. La ropa que elijas debe ser cómoda, usada, y acorde a las condiciones ambientales del lugar por donde realizarás la ruta ¡Comodidad ante todo! Lleva una gorra, sombrero o algo que cubra tu cabeza; por si el sol se pone intenso. Aplica sobre tu cara, principalmente, protector solar.

La mochila o morral que llevarás contigo debe tener el 10% de tu peso, no más, pues así evitarás lesiones en la columna, hombros y sentirás que pesa muchísimo más, según los kilómetros que recorras. Agua, algo dulce, sal, cambur o plátano sancochado.

Dicho esto, te presento algunas fotografías de lo más llamativo en esta parte del trayecto: la naturaleza.

Antes de comenzar el recorrido no pudimos dejar de fotografiar el hermoso paisaje donde se observa, de manera parcial, el Lago de Valencia.

Las montañas del Parque Nacional Henri Pittier y al fondo el Lago de Valencia y se asoma, un poco, la ciudad de Maracay.

Ya iniciada la caminata por la carretera de asfalto, debemos siempre ir contra el sentido de los vehículos, por precaución, para ser vistos por los conductores y proteger nuestra integridad física, además de evitar accidentes lamentables.

Y, paso a paso, fuimos deleitándonos con la exuberante naturaleza que veíamos en nuestro entorno. Para muestra estas imágenes de helechos. Inmensas hojas que se desarrollan por el clima frío de la montaña.

Por cierto, de regreso me quité el suéter y quedé en camiseta, pues ya el calor y la humedad se sentían muy fuertes.

El fuerte incendio, provocado por antisociales, no afectó esta área del parque por la humedad que hay en la naturaleza. En la parte baja, antes de llegar a El Mirador sí fue despiadado el fuego y acabó con gran parte del ecosistema.

Ayer, 21 de abril de 2024, hicimos una ruta en la vía que conduce desde la ciudad de Maracay, específicamente desde la conocida Alcabala El Limón, hasta la Costa de Oro, en el estado Aragua, Venezuela.

Llegamos hasta la Capilla de la Virgen del Carmen, pues es uno de mis lugares preferidos del camino debido a las dos caídas de agua que están al frente de ella, cruzando la carretera y a la majestuosa naturaleza que allí se encuentra.

El motivo principal, de esta caminata, no era otro que realizar el video para presentarme en esta prestigiosa Comunidad: Full Deportes y así, si resulto ser aceptada poder compartir todas mis historias y aventuras, que además de llenarme de Salud Física contribuye con mi Salud Mental: SALUD INTEGRAL.
