There is only 1 narration in Imam Ahmad Musnad which mentions that Uthman (ra) had abolished the 6 other modes of recital, this is to be ignored as an ignorant related it.

The 6 modes of recital are still read the world over.

The Quran available today is written and recited predominantly only according to the Quarysh mode of rectation.

Ali (ra) makes Koofa the capital and upon arrival, he sees the great learned people so he supplicates for Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) as they are a product of his immense knowledge.

The people of Koofa praise Abdullah Ibn Masood by saying he had the best company, was the most pious with the best character and possessed a passion for teaching knowledge like nobody they had ever seen.

Uthman (ra) reads 4 rakats at Mina (highlighting to residents) during the Hajj differing from what Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) experienced with Rasulallah ﷺ, Abu Bakr and Umar (ra).

The secret behind why Uthman (ra) differed from Rasulallah ﷺ that even Abdullah Ibn Masood (ra) did not understand at first.

Alqamah ibn Qays

'Lets go to the one that resembles Ibn Masood (ra) in conduct and attitude' (ie Alqamah).

'The worse form of usury is to violate the personal honour of a Muslim' (Surah 33 v58).

Al Aswad ibn Yazeed (rah)

His son offers 700 Rakahs of Salah dailiy.

Ayesha (ra), 'There is no one in Iraq more respected by me than Al Aswad' (rah).

Ash-Shaabee (rah)

Full name is Abu Aamir Ibn Sharaheel Ash Shaa'bee Al Himyree (rah).

A famous jurist who had met over 500 of the Companions. 

An eminent teacher of Imam Abu Haneefah (rah).

Zaadhaan Al Kindee (rah)

Formerly a singer, Ibn Masood (ra) said,' If only your beautiful voice could be heard reciitng the Quran.'

Zaadhan (rah) repented and thus became a student.

He will walk alone, die alone and will be resurrected alone (Abu Zharr ra).

Ibn Ummi Abd (ra) on his students... I am convinced that such piety, deep understanding of Islam and knowledge of the Quran shall surface amongst you people that surpasses that of all other Muslims (Ahmad).

The Companions pledge to Uthmaan (ra).

Ibn Ummi Abd (ra) resumes his post as the Chief Judge of Koofa.

Sitting in each other's company and visiting one another are clear signs of genuine love & affection.

Apostates are given time to clarify upon their doubts and then to repent.

Later on, Koofa becomes the hub of unrest and rebellion.

Surah 24 v22, the verse that gives the most hope - Who is more Generous than He SWT ?

Avert flogging or executing the Muslims as much as you can (Ibn Abee Shaibah).

Ibn Ummi Abd (ra) wept so much when Umar (ra) departed the world (Ibn Saad).

Even the mountains wept upon the death of Umar (ra) (Haakim).

Any household which did not feel his loss is indeed a bad houshold (Ibn Saad).

The parents of Islam were Abu Bakr & Umar (raa).
