The Ascetic 

Verily the obligatory prayers are an expiation for whatever comes in between ... (Ahmad).

The greatest favour to a bondsman in the world is for him to be given the ability to offer 2 Rakaahs of Salaah (Tabarani).

'Salaah is the key to All Goodness' (Haakim).

Islaam is the Apex of everything & Salaah is its Pillar (Tirmidhi).

The Ascetic 

Laylatul Qadr

Laylatul Qadr remains till the Last day... (Haakim).

Had people not left their Salaah except for that one night, I would now have informed you (Lalatul Qadr) (Tabarani).

'You are a nation for whom Allah SWT wants ease' (Ahmad).

Whoever is deprived of its Blessings (the night of Qadr) is then deprived of All Good (Naaa'ee).

Welcome O Seeker Knowledge!

O Abu Zharr (ra) if you learn a verse of The book of Allah SWT then it is better for you than offering 100 optional units of prayer.

If you go out in the morning to learn a chapter of knowledge, whether you act theron or not, it is better for you than offering 1000 optional units of prayer (Ibn Majah).

Abu Zharr (ra) advises that it is better to make knowledge your pillow than making ignorance your pillow ( for you will not know the way out of your predicaments, Tanbeehul Ghaafileen)

The best worship is the seeking of knowledge (Tabarani).

Verily Allah SWT & His Angels (as) send Salaah upon the person who teaches the people good (Tirmidhi).

The Ascetic 

The Scriptures of Ibrahim (as) & Moosa (as), Surah 87 v19.

The Scriptures of Ibrahim (as) were full of parables & expressions such as...

'O conquering, troubled and deceived king!

I SWT have not sent you to gather the things of this world and to heap piles upon another - but I SWT have sent you to prevent the plea of the oppressed from reaching Me SWT because I SWT never reject such a plea even though it may come from an unbeliever.'

As long as a thinking man does not lose his sense, he should distribute his time in a few activities...

Time to converse with his Lord

Time to engage in introspection

Time to contemplate over the creations of his Lord

Time to for his food & drink

The Scriptures of Moosa (as) were Core lessons...

I SWT am astonished at the person who is convinced about death yet enjoys himself

I SWT am astonished at the person who is convinced about the Fire of Jahannam yet he continues to laugh.

I SWT am astonished at the person who sees this world and how it keeps passing from one person to another yet he places his trust in her.

I SWT am astonished at the person who is convinced about the reckoning tomorrow, yet he works not for it (Ibn Hibban).

The Ascetic 

The Fathomless Vessel of Sacred Knowledge

Abu Zharr (ra) was with the Messenger ﷺ when intercession was granted for those who do not take partners with Allah SWT (Ahmad).

My ﷺ intercession is for the major sinner (Tirmidhi).

I ﷺ am for the worst of my Ummah (Daraqutni).

An amazed Abu Zharr (ra) when he realises the reward of The Kalimah (Muslim).

The Messenger ﷺ will intercede many times

For the accounts to start.

Intercede to allow some to enter Paradise without reckoning.

Intercede for those deserving of Hell but saved due to it.

Intercede for those Muslims who are in Hell to be taken out.

Intercede to reduce the punishment of certain unbelievers.

The Messenger ﷺ is commanded to Love 4...

Alee is one of them [stated thrice]

Allah SWT defends Salmaan, Abu Zharr & others (raa) in Surah 18 v27-28 (Abu Nu'aym).

The tremendous rank of these Companions, the awesome praise of their daily worship & the sincerity of their worship!

The Ascetic 

A verse which if people follow, would be sufficient for them, Surah 62 v2-3 (Nas'aaee).

Ibn Masood (ra), the greatest verse in the Quran that contains the most relief, Surah 62 v2-3 (Ibn Abee Haatim).

"For those who fear Allah SWT He SWT provides a way out for them He SWT provides them with provisions from sources they could never have imagined."

The Mutaqeen - the one who abandons what is harmless out of fear of falling into that which is harmful (Tirmidhi).

Quran Class

Surah 25 v 31-34 Session 8

Why is not the Quran revealed all at once like the Taurat ?

The previous scriptures were revealed all at once, yet they were not as lengthy as The Quran.

We have revealed this in order to strengthen your heart, rehearsing it in slow stages, Surah 17 v106.

The polytheists ask why has Allah SWT afflicted The Messenger ﷺ and revealed the verses in parts, why not all at once ?

This verse was revealed, verse 32.

Mentioning the Prophets is an exalted form of worship.

Mentioning the pious is an expiation of sins.

The Quran refutes falsehood & innovation but only one learned can extract that from The Quran.

The Quran was revealed to the lowest heaven on The Night of Qadr, thereafter over a period of 23 years.

The initial part of The Quran was revealed on The Night of Qadr to The Messenger ﷺ.

Abu Zharr rebukes Abu Dhr'daa (raa) as the latter was building a dwelling for himself (Abu Nu'aym).

The Dream of Wahb ibn Munabbih (rah)

The Bulalaa [the saintly souls who succeed on another]...

Muhammad ibn Wasi, Hassan ibn Abee Sinaan & Malik ibn Deenar (rah), the latter walk amongst the people just like Abu Zharr (ra) during his time (Ahmad).

Fudhayl ibn Iyaad (rah),

Allah SWT has placed all evil in one dwelling and made the love of the world its key.

Similarly, Allah SWT placed all the good in one dwelling and made abstinence from the world its key (Risaalah/ Ihya).

Hasan ibn Alee (ra),The least thing of this world is sufficient whilst the whole of it does not enrich (Kanzul Ummaal).
