1) גם עבודת התשובה יכול וצריך להיות מתוך שמחה. ואדרבה – אם בעת קיום כל מצוה צ"ל בשמחה, ועד באופן ד"מפזז ומכרכר" (כפס"ד הרמב"ם בסוף הל' לולב), הרי עאכו"כ בנוגע למצות תשובה שהיא למע' מכל המצוות, שלכן ביכולתה למלא את החסרון של כל המצוות, עד ש"במקום שבעלי תשובה עומדין אין צדיקים גמורים יכולים לעמוד". ועוד, מכיון שעליו לפרוץ את הגדרים וההרגלים השליליים שעד עתה, הרי הוא צריך עוד יותר את ענין השמחה ש"פורץ גדר". 2) כרגיל בהתוועדות כזו שמנדבים ל"קרן חנה" שעוזר לבנות ישראל לקבל חינוך כשר וקדוש עד שבמשך הזמן ה"ה נעשות "עקרת הבית" וכו'. למנדב לקרן זה יש חלק בכל הפירות ופירי-פירות ש"יגדלו" מה"גרעין" של פרוטות אלו שמנדב. ובזכות זה ישפיע לו גם הקב"ה – "מדה כנגד מדה" – את הברכה ו"בסבר פנים יפות" וכו'.

Synopsis
(1) The service of teshuvah, too, can and must be done with joy. To the contrary: if every mitzvah must be done with joy, to the point of “leaping and dancing” like the Rambam’s ruling at the end of the Laws of Lulav – how much more the mitzvah of teshuvah, which is higher than all the mitzvos and therefore has the power to compensate where they are lacking, to the point that “In the place where baalei teshuvah stand, even complete tzaddikim cannot stand.” Moreover: since one must break through his boundaries and negative habits, it is even more important to experience joy, which “breaks through boundaries.” (2) It has been the practice at this farbrengen to contribute to Keren Chana, the fund established to helps Jewish girls receive a kosher and holy Jewish education. With time, when these girls grow up and become the “mainstay of the home” etc., and whoever donates to this fund will have a part in the fruits, and fruits of the fruits, that will grow from the seeds of the coins he donated. And Hashem will respond in kind, “measure for measure,” bestowing His blessings “with a pleasant countenance” etc.
