א) תוכן המזמור לדוד ה' אורי וגו' שאומרים בחודש אלול: ה' מאיר ("אורי") את חיי היום-יום של כל יהודי, ומושיע לו ("ישעי") וכו' עד לסיום המזמור "קוה אל ה'" ‏–‏ הבטחון בה'. ב) הוראה ממ"ש בשני דפ' כי תצא בענין אהבת ישראל: "לא תראה את שור אחיך גו' נדחים והתעלמת מהם השב תשיבם לאחיך", ועוד יותר: אפי' "אם לא קרוב אחיך אליך ולא ידעתו" מ"מ אסור להתעלם ולהמנע מלעזור לו! ועד"ז ברוחניות הענינים: אי אפשר להתעלם מאף יהודי ש"נאבד" לו משהו בהנהגתו עפ"י תומ"צ, ואפי' מיהודי ש"לא קרוב .. ולא ידעתו", עד ש"מחזירים" לו א"ז וכו'.

(1) During the month of Elul we recite L’dovid Hashem Ori, which expresses how Hashem illuminates (“ori”) the daily life of every Jew, and how Hashem saves him and helps him (“my salvation”), and then it concludes with the trust in Hashem (“Put your hope in Hashem”). (2) A lesson for Ahavas Yisroel from Sheini of Parashas Ki Seitzei: The verse says, “You shall not see your brother’s ox or sheep straying and ignore them; you shall return them to your brother.” Even if “your brother is not close to you or if you do not know him…” nevertheless it is forbidden to hide and refrain from helping him. Similarly in the spiritual sense: One cannot hide from any Jew who has “lost” something in terms of keeping Torah and mitzvos; even if “he is not close to you…or if you do not know him…” you must “return it” to him etc.
