הוראה ממ"ש בתחילת פ' שופטים "שופטים ושוטרים תתן לך בכל שעריך וגו'": "בכל שעריך" – בכל עניני האדם, מחשבה דיבור ומעשה, עליו להעמיד "שופט" ו"שוטר" – לשפוט בשכלו מה מותר לו ומה אסור לו, ואח"ז צריך שיהי' לו את החוזק להביא את החלטת ה"שופט" לידי פועל. וע"י שכ"א יעמיד שופטים ושוטרים בכל שעריו נזכה בקרוב ממש לקיום מצוה זו בפשטות בגאולה האמיתית והשלימה ע"י משיח צדקנו.

A lesson from the opening verse of parashas Shoftim, “You must appoint judges and officers for yourselves in all your gates…”: “In all your gates,” meaning in all aspects of a person’s life – thought, speech, and action – one must appoint a “judge” and an “officer,” meaning one must judge with his intellect what is permitted and what is forbidden, and then he must have the force to carry out the judge’s decision in practice. By every Jew appointing judges and officers in all his gates, we will very soon merit the fulfillment of this mitzvah in the literal sense, with the true and complete Redemption through Moshiach Tzidkeinu.
