א' מיסודי האמונה הוא – מדת הבטחון. אשר, אין ענין יוצא מידי פשוטו – לבטוח בה' שיהי' טוב, טוב הנראה והנגלה. ועד ש"מצוות עשה מן התורה" לבקש ולהתפלל על כך מהקב"ה. אמנם, לאידך גיסא, כאשר קורה מאורע בלתי רצוי ח"ו – הרי, לאחרי המעשה, "חייב אדם לברך על הרעה כשם שמברך על הטובה", וצריך "לקבולי בשמחה", בידעו שמה' יצא הדבר ו"כל דעביד רחמנא לטב עביד", ויתירה מזו – "גם זו לטובה". ובפרט שיהודי צריך לחיות תמיד עם "תורת חיים", והסימן על "חיים" הוא – מרץ חיות ושמחה. ולכן צריך הוא להיות תמיד בשמחה. ויתירה מזו: מסתבר שכחלק מהציווי לאוה"ע להאמין שישנו בורא עולם ומנהיגו, נכלל גם הבטחון בה' שיטיב לברואיו והבקשה והתפלה על זה, ויתירה מזו י"ל – שגם אצל אוה"ע צ"ל הכרה אמיתית ש"כל דעביד רחמנא לטב עביד", ו"גם זו לטובה".

Synopsis
One of the fundamentals of faith is trust in Hashem that things will be well literally – open and revealed good. And it’s a positive commandment of the Torah to daven to Hashem for things to be good. On the other hand, when something undesirable occurs chas v’shalom, after the fact, “A person is obligated to bless for the bad just as he blesses for the good,” and one must “accept it with joy,” knowing that it comes from Hashem and that “Everything that the Merciful One does, He does for the best,” and moreover – “This too is for the good.” Especially being that a Jew must always live with the “Torah of Life,” and the hallmark of life is energy, vitality, and joy. Therefore, one must always be joyful. It is reasonable to conclude the Noachide Laws upon the gentiles to believe in the existence of a Creator and Ruler of the world includes trust in Hashem that He will bestow goodness upon His creations, and the obligation to ask Him for one’s needs. Moreover, even gentiles must recognize the truth, that “Everything that the Merciful One does, He does for the best,” and “This too is for the good.”
