[המשך] כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, כמו הבעש"ט ותלמידיו עד לנשיאי חב"ד לדורתם, התעניין ודאג הן לצרכים הרוחניים והן לצרכים הגשמיים של כל א', גם בקצה העולם, והחשיב זאת לתפקיד ותכלית ירידת נשמתו לעוה"ז. וזהו סימן של "רועה נאמן", שהוא מתעניין ודואג כל הזמן לצרכיהם הן הרוחניים והן הגשמיים, הן לנשמה והן לגוף. וזוהי ההוראה בפועל מי"ב תמוז – יום ירידת נשמתו בגוף למלאות תפקידו בעולם – לכל א', מצד זה ש"הנשיא הוא הכל": בכחו של המשלח, על כל א' להתעניין אולי יש יהודי בדורו שחסר לו משהו בגשמיות או ברוחניות, וכאשר נודע לו על זה – עליו לעזור לו. ולהחשיב זאת כתפקידו ושליחותו בעולם!

The approach of my father-in-law the Rebbe, like the Baal Shem Tov and his disciples down to the Chabad Rebbes of each generation, was concerned with both the spiritual and material needs of every individual, even one at the ends of the earth, and considered this to be his mission and the purpose for which his soul descended into this world. This is the sign of a “faithful shepherd.” And this is the practical takeaway from 12 Tammuz – the day his soul descended into a body to fulfill its mission in this world – for everyone: Being that “The Nasi is everything,” everyone is obligated – with the power of the Nasi, the “principal” – to concern himself with the welfare of every Jew, and to proactively see whether there is a Jew lacking something materially or spiritually, and once he becomes aware of it, he must help him. And one must view this as his personal mission and life purpose.
