בזמן שביהמ"ק הי' קיים, שאז הקריבו קרבן פסח בגשמיות – ראו בפועל ממש ובגלוי את העילוי דפסח ראשון על פסח שני (שישנם ענינים בקרבן פסח ראשון שאינם בשני), אבל בזמן הגלות הרי גם עיקר קרבן פסח ראשון הוא ברוחניות, ובמילא בפסח שני לא מודגש את מה שהחסיר בפסח ראשון אלא רק העילוי דפסח שני על פסח ראשון. ומזה, שדוקא בזמן הגלות ניכר יותר העילוי דפסח שני לגבי פסח ראשון, ההוראה – שכאשר ה"יצר" רוצה לפעול חלישות ח"ו בעניני התומ"צ בזמן הגלות בטענה שבלאו הכי אא"פ לקיים אותם בשלימות – אומרים לו שישנו הענין ד"יתרון האור מתוך החושך", שדוקא בזמן הגלות יכולים לפעול "יתרון האור". אמנם הגילוי ד"יתרון האור" יהי' לעת"ל, אבל פעולת עצם הדבר נעשית ע"י מעשינו ועבודתינו בזמן הגלות דוקא. ונוסף לזה – גם גילוי הענינים יכול כל יהודי לפעול בכל עת שירצה, כי ביכולתו להביא את משיח צדקנו.

Synopsis

When the Beis Hamikdash stood and the Korban Pesach was brought physically, the Jewish people saw the advantage of Pesach Rishon over Pesach Sheini (because some aspects of the Pesach Rishon don’t apply to the Pesach Sheini). But in exile, even the Pesach Rishon happens in the spiritual sense. Therefore, Pesach Sheini nowadays doesn’t emphasize what Pesach Sheini lacks compared to Pesach Rishon; rather, the emphasis is only on the advantage of Pesach Sheini over Pesach Rishon. This teaches us that when the evil inclination tries to weaken our Torah and mitzvos in exile by arguing that we can’t fulfill them properly in exile anyway – the response is that “the advantage of light” comes “from the darkness” – it is specifically in exile that we can bring about the “advantage of light.” While it’ true that this “advantage of light” will be revealed only in the future, however, that light is caused by “our actions and our service” now in the time of exile. Moreover, even the revelation of it is possible for a Jew at every moment, because a Jew has the ability to bring Moshiach.
