[כוונת כ"ק אד"ש בהשיחה דלקמן היא בקשר להגיוס שקדם למלחמת "ששת הימים", שהחלה והסתיימה בסמיכות בסמיכות לחה"ש באותה שנה] כעת, ב"יום השישי" ערב הגאולה ("יום שכולו שבת"), מתקיים הענין ד"טועמי' חיים זכו שמראים ליהודי שהוא יכול לעמוד במעמד ומצב שיהי' בזמן הגאולה. [אלא שצריכים לדעת שזהו רק "טועמי' וגו'" דערב שבת, ולא שבת עצמו...]. ראו לאחרונה, לפני זמן מ"ת, שע"י "טרייסל" א' נתבטלו כל הטענות של היצה"ר: 1) הטענה – מהו הענין ד"הקדמת נעשה לנשמע"?! והנה ראה כ"א בזמן הגיוס, שמיד שקיבל את צו הגיוס – קם והתייצב בלי לשאול שאלות ובלי להתייעץ קודם עם המשפחה וכו'. ועשה זאת בשמחה! וכך הי' אצל כולם – מ"ראשי שבטיכם" עד "שואב מימיך". ברגע שידע שהכוונה אליו וזה נוגע לו – קיבל זאת ע"ע בלי קושיא מלכתחילה! 2) הטענה – מי אומר שמי שמוסר לך את ההוראות הוא בדרגה נעלית יותר ממך?! הנה גם א"ז ראו בעת הגיוס – מציאות הצבא עומדת על קבלת-עול המפקד! וזה לא משנה אם הוא חכם או עשיר יותר גדול מהמפקד – אם הוא המפקד יש לציית לפקודות!

[In the sichah, the Rebbe references the call-up of the Israeli military in the lead up to the Six-Day War, which took place shortly before Shavuos that year.] We are now on the Eve of the Redemption, which is considered “Erev Shabbos” – when there is a “taste” of the Redemption, and one is shown a glimpse of how he can live the way we will live when Moshiach comes. (But one must know that it’s only Erev Shabbos, not Shabbos itself, and it’s only a taste.) As Recently we saw in the days leading up to the giving of the Torah on Shavuos, how one jostle completely nullified all the arguments of the yetzer hara: (1) The yetzer hara argues, why should you follow orders blindly, saying “We will do” before “We will hear”? But as we saw, those called up to the army reported for duty without asking any questions, without consulting their families etc. – and they did it happily. And this was true of everyone from “your heads of your tribes” to “your water drawers”; the moment they knew that the call-up was directed to them and that it affected them, they heeded the call without any questions whatsoever. (2) The yetzer hara argues: who says you must listen to the person giving you orders; you might be more capable and more experienced than him? But when the troops were called up this wasn’t a factor either; the very basis of an army is following the commander’s orders. And it doesn’t matter if the soldier is smarter or greater than the commander: if he’s the commander, you must obey his orders!
