בעל ההילולא [דכ"ף מנחם-אב] כותב ברשימה איך שכל הפרטים הקשורים עם המאסר שלו התאימו עפ"י קבלה! והביאור, דלכאו' איך מתאים שיכתוב כך בקשר לעצמו עם ענין הענווה, כותב הוא בעצמו – כי הכל הוא בהשגחה פרטית! ומזה ישנה "הוראה עיקרית" ו"הוראה נפלאה": כל דבר הוא בהשגחה פרטית ורק צ"ל את ה"שאו מרום עיניכם" ואז יראו "מי ברא אלה", ובמילא כשיהודי מתבונן במעמדו ומצבו איך ש"אתם המעט מכל העמים" ושרוב זמנו הולך לענינים שלא שייכים לרוחניות וכו' – עליו לדעת שה"עולם" שהוא רואה אינו אלא "קליפה חיצונית", אבל באמת "לעולם ה' דברך נצב בשמים", ואפי' מה שגוי מחליט כך וכך ה"ז עפ"י סודות התורה! וכשיהי' חדור עם "הנחה" זו לא יתפעל מ"העולם הגדול".

The baal haheilula [the Rebbe’s father whose yahrzeit is on 20 Menachem-Av] writes how every detail of his imprisonment was aligned according to Kabbalah. Seemingly, in light of the trait of humility, how is it appropriate for him to write this about himself – but he himself writes that everything is by Hashgacha Protis. And this serves as a fundamental lesson and a wondrous lesson that everything is by Hashgacha Protis; one must only “Lift your eyes up high,” and then he will see “Who created these.” Therefore, when a Jew reflects on his state and condition, and sees that “you are the fewest of all the peoples” and that most of his time is spent on matters unrelated to spirituality, etc., he must know that the world that he sees is nothing more than an outer shell, and the truth is that “Forever, Hashem, Your word stands in the heavens”; even a decision made by a non-Jew to is in accordance with the secrets of the Torah. When a person is imbued with this perspective, he will not be intimidated by “the big world.”
