[המשך] אם רוצים שא"י תהי' מיושבת ביהודים – יש לכל לראש לשרוף את "עגל" הגוים ולידע שלא ככל הגוים בית ישראל ו"הן עם לבדד ישכון ובגוים לא יתחשב"! ולא שייך לעשות "פשרה" עם השו"ע ולהכניס דברים זרים של ה"עגל" בלי להוציא את הקב"ה... זה או העגל או הקב"ה! בסוף, אלו שהחשיבו את ה"עגל" חזרו לאחוריהם מההליכה לא"י! וההוראה מזה ששבט לוי נלחמו עמהם והחזירום – שאין להתייאש מיהודי: בנוגע לשמירת המצוות אין להתחשב עם כללי ה"דמוקרטי'" שאין להכריח אדם בניגוד לרצונו... הגאולה באה ע"י משיח ש"יכוף כל ישראל לילך בה"! זו הדרך לקבל את א"י! להגן על א"י בגשמיות לא מתחשבים ברצונו אלא מכריחים אותו, וכ"ש שכך צ"ל כדי להגן על הנשמה של א"י! א"י יכולה להתקיים רק ע"י שמירת המצוות! כאשר הורים מכים ילדיהם מושיבים אותם במעצר, אבל כאשר הם רוצים להכות את הנשמה של הילד פתאום אומרים שאין להתערב... בזה לא שייך "אחרי רבים להטות", כמו ששבט לוי הי' רק שבט א', והשבט הקטן ביותר. והצליחו – כי הנהגתם היתה מצד הנשמה!

[Continued.] If you want Eretz Yisrael to be inhabited by Jews – the first thing is to burn the “calf” of the gentiles and know that “the house of Israel is not like all the nations”; rather “it is a nation that will dwell alone, and will not be reckoned among the nations.” A Jew can’t have both; one either chooses the calf or chooses Hashem, and ultimately, those who followed the calf ended up turning around from Eretz Yisrael. And the Bnei Levi, who chased after them and fought them and brough them back, teach us that we must never give up on a Jew: when it comes to keeping mitzvos, there’s no place for “democracy” or the idea that you can’t force someone to do something against their will. To the contrary, the Redemption will come when Moshiach “compels the entire Jewish people to follow it”; this is the way to conquer Eretz Yisrael. When it comes to protecting Eretz Yisrael physically, a person isn’t asked whether he wants to join the army or not, but he is forced – and all the more so when it comes to protecting the soul of Eretz Yisrael. Similarly, when parents hit a child, they put the parents in jail, whereas if they want to “hit” the child’s soul, suddenly they say you can’t mix in to the parents’ decisions, but the reality is that protecting the child’s soul is even more important. And the Bnei Levi were one tribe, the smallest of the tribes, yet they succeeded, because their actions came from the soul.
