"Every single prophet brings hope. Even in the midst of destruction, that’s never the final message. In the heart of every prophetic word, there’s always a chance for restoration. Even in Jeremiah, known as the 'weeping prophet,' his grief reflects God’s heart for His people, but even there, there’s always hope—always a way back to God."

Daniel highlights how even the most severe prophetic messages, like those from Jeremiah, are always balanced with the invitation of restoration and redemption—showing that destruction is never the last word in God’s story.

This week’s episode features Ange Miracle, a YWAM Alumni and a speaker who staffed the very first DBS in Kona in September 2012. She takes us through the early prophets, exploring their role in calling Israel back to faithfulness. Out of the 16 biblical prophets, these early messengers played a critical role in both warning and restoring God’s people.

"The prophets were covenant enforcement mediators. They weren’t just proclaiming destruction—they always carried a message of hope. Their words reminded the people of God’s love, His purpose, and His promise of redemption."

Ange unpacks how the prophets weren’t just voices of judgment but messengers of God’s deep love and commitment to His people. Their role was to call Israel back to the covenant and offer assurance of God’s restoration even in the midst of rebellion.

This week’s episode features Therese Vannoy, as she unpacks the history of the Kings of Israel and Judah—which rulers followed Yahweh and which turned to the gods of the land. She begins by breaking down 1 Chronicles, giving us essential historical context to better understand the Book of Kings.

"The Book of Kings comes alive when we understand what God was asking Israel to do—and how they didn’t do it. Throughout this book, we see the tension between good and evil, the consequences of idolatry, and the hope of a coming King. The messianic promise remains, even in the midst of human failure."

Therese takes us deep into the Hebrew themes of tov (good) and ra (evil), tracing them from the Garden of Eden through Israel’s history. She also highlights a key chapter in Deuteronomy that gives us the lens to understand the rise and fall of Israel’s kings.
