  • Cavs take a World Cup break, Wild returns to action in Halifax and an interview with a Dinos legend

We review Cavalry FC's huge win over Inter Toronto on Wednesday and discuss how the season has been going prior to the World Cup break.

The Calgary Wild are back in action on Saturday morning in Halifax where they face the Tides. The Wild need to figure out a way to gain some ground and get out of the NSL cellar. It sounds like they will have some help from some players returning from injury.

Our interview is with Gord Franson. Gord has been the team manager and "behind the scenes" guy for the University of Calgary Dinos men's program for 39 years. He's an encyclopedia of Dinos and Canada West knowledge and has been inducted into the Dinos Hall of Fame.

We also do some Alberta Premier League reviews and previews as usual.

We preview Cavalry's final match before the World Cup break where they take on Inter Toronto at York Lions Stadium.

Lots of familiar names mentioned in our Alberta Premier League segment. Fraser Aird and Chanan Chanda are leading Foothills to a fantastic start. But Blizzard is keeping pace with them with a similarly perfect record.

In the APL women's division, we see Izzy Monck got the start for the Wild U23 team. Could she be signing a NSL contract soon? Podcast guest Kendall Showers also returns to the APL with Foothills after her season playing in the Greek pro league.

  • Best of times, worst of times for Calgary pro clubs

Lots of discussion about Calgary's two pro teams and the vastly different trajectories they are on this season.

Cavalry FC demolished Pacific FC last weekend and are now going to Hamilton for a top of the table clash with Forge on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Calgary Wild lost their match vs Halifax on Sunday in a manner that was very similar to Pacific's performance only a couple hours earlier.  We don't usually have the "explicit" checkbox for our episodes, but commenting about this match resulted in that box being checked this week. We also preview the Wild's home match on Sunday afternoon vs AFC Toronto.

We go over Alberta Premier League match results and provide some previews for this weekend's matches.

We also review Tuesday's Alberta Premier League matches and preview the Friday night slate.  And we also discuss the state of the natural grass fields in the city, in particular the ones managed by the City of Calgary.
