A few weeks back, I published a conversation that I had with Christian Baxter, who happens to still identify as a Christian, as a part of his spiritual journey, and not just his name. And the same day, I had a call scheduled with another guy named Christian, and though he doesn’t self-identify with that label any more, I think you’ll see pretty quickly how spiritually attuned he is in his life.

We know each other from the Flow Genome Project, I knew that he was struck by Jordan Hall’s conversion, and I learned from a shared group discussion that the foundational faith of his family growing up, was Mormonism. And if you haven’t seen some of my earlier videos, you might not know that this was the faith that served as a catalyst to the deepening of my own spiritual journey way back in Jr. High. 

But if you think this is just going to be a story about one man’s losing his faith in Mormonism, you’ll be very surprise to hear about the different drug induced and drug assisted insights into the divine that Christian has experienced in the meantime. 

Christian actually got married between the time that we recorded this, and the time that I was able to edit and publish it, on Eclipse Day, no less. So happy wedding and eclipse day to Christian, and happy viewing

I sat down with Perry and Austin in April 2024 to record a conversation about the different rituals and retreats that we have participated in over the years and how it's transformed our relationships together.

On March 12, 2024, I had 3 meetings scheduled. One with an old friend, in person, in our meat suits, and two online with two different guys, both named Christian. In part one, we’re going to meet @christianbaxter_yt, who’s a part of a loose band of Christian-minded people whom @PaulVanderKlayhas labeled “This Little Corner of the Internet” or “TLC” for short. He’s shown up a lot for me on YouTube and Twitter where I follow him, and he also shows up on some other folks’ content in TLC, including a conversation with @JordanGreenhallwhich he had a few days before mine. And then, he went to a conference in Florida where he met Jordan Hall in person AND @JordanBPeterson. The Symbolic World Summit, hosted by a guy named @JonathanPageau. This conference took place at or near an Orthodox Church, a detail which will become more important as you hear me debrief with Christian B., about the meeting that I had that morning. I end up recounting the story again later in the afternoon with Christian D., which you can check out in Part II of A Tale of Two Christians.

I do a lot of talking up front to try to clarify if my projections of Christian Baxter are accurate from what I have gleaned online, and I was pretty close. I promise, we do get into his story as well. But part of the reason that we start with me is because he invited me onto his channel, where you can see an unedited version of this conversation, which is linked below. On Sunday, March 3rd, I sat down University of Southern Indiana Economics professor, and my good friend, Perry Burnett. We recently attended a church called Open Table, and found ourselves without an experience to participate in as this church takes the first Sunday of each month off to rest. 

We discussed Perry's path to and from faith in Christianity, as well as how his life was saved by the Bible. 

This conversation took place during the western Lenton season of 2024 where I decided to give up Atheism. (Giving Up Atheism For Lent - GUAFL)
